my doughter is doing a solar system project and we can't find a solar cacutater any were please help

The diagonal length of the poster board is 43 inches, so make the scale about 1 inch = 1 AU. (One AU, Astronomical Unit, is 93 million miles, the distance from the Sun to the Earth).

At that scale, the Sun and all the planets are less than the size of a printed period. Here are the distances:

Mercury: .387 AU
Venus: .723 AU
Earth: 1 AU
Mars: 1.524 AU
Jupiter: 5.2 AU
Saturn: 9.5 AU
Uranus: 19.2 AU
Neptune: 30 AU
... and if you wish, Pluto is at 39 AU.
