ive had 17 hours of driving lessons and my instructer says i should have at least another 20! i think im quite an O.K driver.. ;)what can i do to reduce the amount i need. i think 20 is way too much and i want my lisence by next month! is that possible? i am only 17 by the way

as you mentioned...I think I am quite OK driver.....so I would say get more lessons until you will say...I am Ready Now and I wanna do it Now..
When my Instructor asked me..if I want to get more lessons..I told her..I am Ready.. so when she knows you are ready and feel confident..she would say nothing..because even if you fail..you will still get lessons from your instructor and pay for the lessons more..
To reduce the amount you need..ask any of your family who is experienced or friends in driving to practice you more,
I passed both written and road test once..
Just don't let distraction comes on that day of your test and don't give up reading and practicing all you need to do for the tests.
You are right, 20 lessons are lot of payments but the instructor might have seen something that you need to practice..
how much you wanted to get your license soon is how much you will work for it. the earlier the better...

I wouldn't worry about how many hours you need, as long as you have some experience driving. If you think that you are ready to take your driving lesson then just do it.
I will give you a word of advice: practice parallel parking. That can be extremely hard.

The more time you can get behind the wheel with an instructor is going to help you out immensely. 20 more hours does seem like alot, but how many hours do(did) your friends/peers have to have? If this is in line with your friends, just do it and have patience. Those things worth getting are worth waiting for.....

take the instructors advice. Its only 20 hours, and you will be a better driver for it. Hell, I think I would be an ok brain surgeon, but would you let me operate?

You should give up and get a scooter. Some people just don't have it and you are one of them. Sorry.

don't drive. If you can't do it (and it is oh-so-obvious that you can't.) then just don't do it.
We already have enough accidents on the road as it is.
