Has anyone ever interviewed for a job around your 6-7th month of pregnancy? I know they can't legally discriminate and not hire you based on being pregnant....but it's so easy for employers to just say that I'm not qualified, etc....
Has anyone ever actually been hired at the 6th or 7th month...(when visibly pregnant)?
Also, has anyone changed health insurance while pregnant...do they cover your pregnancy and delivery or NOT cover it because it's considered a pre-existing condition? (P.S. This is for health insurance in USA)

I found out I was 14weeks pregnant a month after i started a new job. You are right about them being able to find another reason not to hire you.
As far as insurance, this is what I found out, Under federal law if you are entering into a GROUP heathplan then cannot consider pregnancy a pre existing condition. But you may not be able to take any time off. My job will allow me to take my two weeks vacation and all of my personal time if I choose, but I don't qualify for unpaid time because that falls under FMLA and you have to be with your job for one year. In GA they do not have disability. I know in NJ the state will pay you disabilty for pregnancy.
Hope this helps.

I can't answer the question about interviewing for a job while pregnant, but I know from experience about changing health insurances. I was pregnant with my second and my husband got a new job and we changed health insurance. I was so scard the new insurance wouldn't cover me. They covered every penny!! Pregnancy is a pre-existing condition but it's one of the few that 99% of insurance companies will cover. You will not find many insurance companies that won't cover it half way or part way through. The reason is because it's putting the baby's health at jeopardy and that's wrong!! No insurance company would dare to deny coverage to a woman and the fetus. You have nothing to worry about.

I was hired during my 4th month, and I wasn't really showing yet. I also changed health insurance during that time. Depending on your state, (mine was TX) most states law says that pregnancy has to be covered and can not be considered a "preexisting condition". If you are not covered by insurance, call your state and find out what benefits they have available to keep you and your baby safe and healthy during your pregnancy. There are a lot of programs for pregnant women, both unisured and underinsured. You may also qualify for disability benefits from your state if you are not able to be employed because of your pregnancy. Best of luck, and try keep your stress low. Everything really will work out jsut fine, just take it day to day. God bless!

I was hired at a job when I was 5 months pregnant. We even talked out my pregnancy during the interview. If the company wants you to work for them, then they will hire you.
As for the insurance it will depend on the insurance company. If you are offered the position ask what company is the health care provider, then call them and find out what their policy is.

I don't know of too many people actually hired while visibly pregnant, except for seasonal work. As for benefits, you'd have to check with your individual insurance company and the plan they have. It will be up to them. I got on insurance at 6 months pregs and they covered it, but I know someone else's who didn't cover them. Just do some digging. Best of luck!

Personally, if I were you I would try to find work through a temp agency. Mind you I live in a country where women generally get 52 weeks of leave.
If you are serious about going back to work soon after you find a position you could keep interviewing, but honestly a company that is only looking for someone for 2-3 months is going to be much more able to judge you based on your skills and many times after a temp assignment people are asked to become permanent employees if they preform well.

I don't know how your new insurance will be or what state you are in. Many states and insurance polices......pregnancy can not be considered a pre existing condition. That is something you will really have to look into.
Good luck!

I dunno about the job, but the insurance thing...they treat you. I had to switch health insurance at 5 months. It covers the pregnancy and delivery...It's not like you switched insurance after cutting off your arm.
