The question was "here's an ink pen, sell it to me" and you're suppose to go into a big sales pitch. The job didn't call for sales so I was thrown a little.

I said something like "this is a great pen. It is the perfect size for most hands, has a great gripper at the end, is one of the most beautiful colors of purple that is made, and is made by RoseArt one of the best office supply companies there are", which wasn't bad but I felt so nervous I felt like I was talking a mile a minute.

Hey, I have to give you a pat on the back because I thought that was a great answer! Especially if the position didn't require sales experience, you answered it: Effectively, in a Concise Manner, and in an Appropriate Tone for that setting...Try to never doubt yourself, as that is what that question was derived from...Self-Confidence. You did well, from what you have stated here. Good Luck and be Safe...(smiles)

Here's one of the best tools of ever invented. With it, you can take notes on art history, work math problems, invent bridges, journal your thoughts or just plain doodle. All for less than a buck.

They just want to see how well you communicate. It's not how that your job will require sales, it's that they wanted to throw you a loop and see how you reacted.
