It's not going to go just like that, it's something you're obviously going to have to live with for a little while yet or even may be your whole life.
I suggest cleansing, toning and moisturising x2 per day as this will really help unclog your pores and make sure your skin in perfectly clean. It's also useful to keep hair from falling over your face too much.
Also, all these people recommending Proactiv.. It's very expensive and may not suit your skin type, there are other cheaper and better suited products for you out there that will do the job just as well!
But.. Also, you should use something containing Benzoyl Peroxide, I use Quinoderm cream which I find works really well for my mild acne but test it for irritation first behind your ear.
Good luck!

Well if your female birth control worked for me ...ortho tricyclene. We tried everything else at the dermatologist and either had bad reactions or didn't work plus I am older so it is ongoing hormonal stuff with me.
They were really big on not using whitening toothpastes too. Esp. if you break out around chin area.
If you're a teen, it will be a faze hopefully, due to huge hormonal changes but the best thing is to try some products with Salycic acid...gel washes.....keep clean, hands off, and there are some makeups that even have salycic acid in them and not oily etc. Stuff that overdries your skin will have the effect of creating more oil to combat it plus a dry layer on top that blocks your pores.
The movie stars, for quick fixes, will use visine for red and hemmoroid cream for swelling. Personally haven't tried it but those are their red carpet tricks.
See a dermatologist if you can afford it.

I have found when nothing else works, try taking a q-tip and soaking it with visine... then rubbing the acne and area around and let it dry, try this for 1-2 days, should be just fine by then. Not only will it get rid of the oils it will help the redness go away.

my acne was so bad that none of the over the counter products worked...so i had to go to a derm....it was pretty bad, but it worked...i dont get zits anymore but my face is badly scarred.....my doc prescribed differin and benzaclin...very strong and powerfull...my face literally peeled off...
but good luck!!! for some ppl proactive works..and for other just some white toothpast does the trick!
