Eating foods rich in iron (or take an iron supplement if your not already) may help. Check with your doctor before you start on any supplements however. Likewise, make sure you are getting plenty of protein. When I was pregnant I ate three square (yet healthy) meals and I took fruit and veggies with me to work. I also had severe heartburn (I can't even begin to tell you how many bottles of tums I went through). I couldn't eat oranges or pineapple but apples, carrots, and celery were safe (most of the time).
Coffee, for me anyway, only served as a temporary high and then I went crashing down rather quickly. I eventually weaned myself completely off coffee and cokes. If possible try stretching techniques and on your breaks take a short walk (preferably outside) but if not inside will work. Just walking and stretching may help to get your blood running and lessen your tiredness.
At some point, sad to say, no matter what you do your going to be tired. Your body is undergoing tremendous changes and it is really working overtime. I worked up until the week before I gave birth and the last two weeks were pure torture.

Lots of foods or snacks can help. Try keeping around some dried fruit, I like strawberries and apples, they taste sweet but don't have any added sugar and or anything else. It's just dried fruit, rasins are good too but I can never eat those without wanting some peanut butter..I don't know why..
Fresh fruist will do plenty good, oranges, apples, bananas, berries of all kind are great for you plus it would curb your eating sweets, so you get the bonus of fruits and not high sugar.
I keep cereal around all the time, it's my little pick me up through the day and well..non sweet snack again. (on my 3rd , due in april)
Sometimes your just tired and your body is telling you to get more sleep. Honestly, when you get home from work, if you dont' already put your feet up, relax if you can and take the time for yourself.
Eating fruits helped me alot, I never drank coffee, but you have to remember also that while your pregnant your going to get more tired. So it may not just be coffee. Orange juice has it's own little boost to it, take an organe juice break at work, and put your feet up to stretch your arms and your legs. Belive it or not simply stretching can wake yourself right up or..on the other hand it could put you to sleep. Fresh air too...
Depending on how far you are, and if you get enough sleep your bound to be tired while pregnant this is the time to be figuring out what helps you the most. Getting up and walking outside the office for fresh air can do the trick for others while even the thought of walking can make you recoil if your legs are sore already.. so try some fruits, try stretching, some low sugar drinks, apple juice orange juice, try ceral bars with the fruit in them . Getting fresh air, walking, or more sleep.
Hope at least something there helped you out.
Take care of yourself!

Coffee isn't good when your pregnant. The caffeine is bad for the baby, which I'm sure is why you don't want to rely on it! I've found that if I eat a bowl of that instant oatmeal (2 packets) by Quaker Oats (they even have flavors like Cinnamon Bun) I feel great the whole morning.
In the afternoon eat something healthy like a turkey sandwich on wheat bread, with cheese, spinach, and tomatoes. Then go for some veggie sticks and dip with some grapes or blueberries. I do a yogurt smoothie with berries and granola. Or, apples and plain yoplait (yellow container) yogurt!! TDF. My girlfriend has an addiction to apples and peanutbutter.
Remember, protien and carbs help curb hunger the best. AND keep you going througout the day.

You can eat anything that you ate before you got pregnant. Pregnancy isn't a very good time to be watching what you eat. If you are tired alot, try incorporating more fiber into your diet. It gives you a steady stream of energy compared to sugar which is a quick energy boost but leaves you feeling more drained after. Don't worry about the weight you gain. If you don't go overboard with the sugar while pregnant, you should be fine after. Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy.

While pregnant, it is best to stay away from caffine all together. How far along are you? Being pregnant is an exausting expierence. I've been pregnant a couple of times and it always wiped me out. There were times where there was nothing I could do to stay awake. Nothing. IF, you are allowed to listent o music, you may want to try that. Try something invigorating. Or just get up and walk around. Overeating can couse you to be too tired as well. And drink plenty of water. Good luck!

maybe something like a salad with lots of dark green veggies, such as spinach. really give yourself an iron boost. if this is the beginning of your pregnancy though, expect to be super tired a lot. i remember coming home and passing out. i didn't even intend to. i would sit down and make plans for the evening and the next thing i knew i knew, it was 3 hours later and my husband was cleaning up and telling me to get ready for bed. it's rough, but you'll start to be more awake in about the 3rd or 4th month. be sure to stay on top of your vitamins though. having proper nourishment really helps to keep your body going. try some tea (decaffeinated of course) to give you a boost. i know that celestial seasonings has an energy tea without the caffeine.

i find that eating small meals really helps. i try to not pack on the pounds t too early, so i've been making fruit salad and munch on that all day at work. Vitamin B6 helps with the morning sickness. I also heard herbal/decaf ginger or mint tea works well too. OJ is also good. Before, i would dilute the OJ with water, now i just drink it as is (not taste enough i guess).
i'm chowing down boxes of Altoids tangerine sours drops now. Good luck!

My doctor told me about 8oz of coffee/caffeine per day is ok. She also told me to drink 2 liters of water per day. The constant running to the bathroom will definitely keep you awake. Also like other people said eat lots of protein. There are certain types of fish you can eat with lower amounts of mercury. Make sure you eat your fruits and vegetables also. I am starting to feel better now and am about 15 weeks pregnant. I was exhausted all the time. I just make sure I get plenty of food and water. Then if you feel like you need to lay down when you get home from work. You need to get any extra rest your body tells you! Trust me on this one!

Eat lots of fruits and veggies. Cantelope is very good when you are pg. You are going to feel sluggish, being pg makes you tired all the time! Drink lots of water and milk. You can drink coffee, just limit it to like one cup in the morning. I did all the stuff I did before I got pg, with all three of my pg's, and everything was fine!

The last two responses are right. Eat lots of protein and carbohydrates. They give you the most energy. Eat bread, pasta, rice, and crackers. For protein, eat meat, fish, nuts and protein bars. I love protein bars and they come in really good flavors. Plus, some sugar is good. It'll give you a boost too.
