Because their parents let them get away with anything and spoiled them rotten when they were younger. Now they think everyone should treat them that way.

The conceited girls were most likely raise to believe that they're better than everyone else.
I heard something really stupid on the radio this morning (and it sort of relates to this).
There was research done on how many adults hate their jobs, what job they wanted when they were little...etc, and seeing if gender plays a part in it at all.
Some girls polled actually wanted to be a "princess" for a job when they were little. That tells you something right there, doesn't it?
Reality hits some harder than others.

Anybody can be conceit, both men and women. Usually it's the spoiled life they lead. Their parent's always pet the person's ego. Then when they are unleashed on the outside world, he or she expects everyone to bow before them and kiss their feet. I usually avoid those people. A relationship with said persons is usually difficult to manage in my opinion.

To me, I think the main reason they feel that way is because they have very low self-esteem and self-confidence. Also, they don't feel good about themselves.

Because they are actually very insecure about their looks and think if they act like they think they are very beautiful and gorgeous then other people will think that too.
