For almost 13 years I have gotten my period on the 25th of every month. This month I still have not received it, so I am now 4 days late. So I took a Clearblue digital pregnancy test and it came back negative. I was told that I should try taking another test that is NOT a digital, or that I could have a low Hcg level. However even if my Hcg level was low wouldnt it show up by now...4 days later if I was pregnant? I am more nervous that there is something wrong, but I dont know what it would be. I just want people to answer honestly, thank you!

Ok love if you do have low hcg levels which seems to be on the rise in women today you can get another test drink light fluids b4 bed and then use the first urine of the day to have a concentrated reading but get a regular test and not digital or go ahead and schedule an OB appointment and ask for blood work to be done if it comes back neg they will do an exam but with low levels it can be hard to get a real answer on a urine test so you dont have to spend a bunch of money just buy a regular test generic and the first urine of the day and if you see a faint line then make an appointment if worried about a false negative then make an appointment the only thing you to get is the truth right. good luck on finding out

I didn't get a clear positive until I was a week late.

The line tests are a little better, since you can see the faintest whisper of a line, before the digital tests would show a positive.

Some women don't test positive until 2 weeks or more after their missed period, which is also considered normal. In fact, what to expect says specifically that home preggo tests are most effective when taken at least 10 days after a missed period.

You should also check the sensitivity of the test. The best tests can detect as low as 15 miu, which is considered very sensitive. Anything requiring 25 miu or greater will naturally require you to wait a lot longer to test positive.

I am now 14 days late, and have never been late before...except when I was pregnant. I have taken about 6 tests now (going broke buying so many) and I have a Dr's appointment on Thurs to go for a blood test. With my first pregnancy I tested the day my period was due and it came up positive...this time they ahve all been negative.

You could have a low HCG level. With my first pg, a reg. pg test kept coming up -. Finally, I got blood work done and it said I was pg. Wait another week, and take another one. If still -, call your doctor(your reg. doctor) and make an appt.
