A) Commutative Property of addition basically says that you can move them around within the equation without changing anything.
a+b = b+a
B) Associative Property of addition says that you can group them however you want and it won't change your answer.
(a+b) +c = a + (b+c)
C)Distributive Property is what you use a lot when you factor. It basically says that you can 'distribute' multiplication over addition. If you take it the other way: if two numbers are both multiplied by the same number you can factor out the number that they have in common.
a(b+c) = ab +ac
