I got a new laptop and I'm trying to connect to a wireless network. It's a pretty strong connection. When I click to connect, it says that I'm connected but when I open my internet browser, it says that the web page can't show. What's up with that? Does anyone know how I can connect to the internet?

firstly you have to type in the network id for the wireless network - also called the ssid or the network key

You also have to configure IE go to tools > internet options > conections > lan settings and tick automatically detect settings

Change the Settings in IE to Autodetect Proxy; you may have a setting of a definite proxy there, however, if the wireless setting you use is strong, and free, it likely has an autodetect-able proxy
