Why is it that as the richest nation on the planet we still have homless and starving children? Why is the Christian Children's Foundation helping third world countries and not doing anything for our own? Why is it so popular to adopt a child from a foregion contry and not our own?

I can't say for sure if we are the richest nation (I'm just not an expert in that area), but you do pose some excellent questions. I wonder the same thing...we have so many people here who need help, yet we focus so much on reaching out to any and everyone else. I think that maybe it's only because it looks good - we give a few dollars here and there, get our pats on the back, and all is well. Don't get me wrong...I'm all for helping others, community outreach, etc., but I also believe that charity begins at home.

I think the reason so many people adpot outside the USA is because the mom can't change her mind and take the kids back later on down the road like they can in the USA. Also with newborns especially the mom has up to 48 hours I think in most states to change her mind and potential adoptees who are forced to pay for a woman's medical bills while she is pregnant don't want to get attatched and then find out later that the mom they wanted to adopt from decided to keep her baby. They don't get their money back at all and are left with an empty heart. The reason most older kids in the USA are in the system until their 18 is because most adults don't want to deal with kids that may have problems or be troublemakers. Plus it's harder to force your beliefs and expectations on older children than it is on younger children.

Because to us, our time is more valuable than our money.

To help people overseas, it's assumed that we will just donate to the cause of an organization already supporting them. We give some money and feel better about ourselves.

But to assist someone in your own city, someone who you might pass every day on your way to work, requires you to stop and help them yourself.

Yes, we can give money to local organizations, and many do. But until we are all willing to help each other out, these things will always be a problem.

Excellent question !!!Today's newspaper said one out of five families in the US live in poverty. That same paper said that half of the freshmen entering high school do not graduate. That paves the wayfor more poverty and crime. The government needs to step up to the plate with some money to support our organizations that are already stretched to the limit. The Welfare to Work Program is a good idea, but it needs support. Where are our priorities ???

Rich yes but spiritually dead, not dying but dead. Our bigotry hate and fear forbids adopting babies here because they are all products of 'white trash'... so they go to korea and china where there are healthy babies waiting... easier to say I adopted asian than to admit to buying a white trash baby. Bear in mind I am only speaking of WHITE AMERICA now (I am white). The Christians are all insane and blinded by their stupid religious fervor.

Money is the real God here and we now have billionaires and these bils and mils cant share, they are to self-centered and hateful/fearful.

Global warming of the earth and Global Colding of the heart and soul.... The prognosis is sorry indeed.

All of my donations go to people in the U.S., I can't explain the actions of others.
