I am going to blue man group show. The ticket says that I am suppose to dress casually. I have heard that they throw stuff on you like banana peels etc. Does wearing a jeans and nice shirt comes under dressing casually or do I have to wera black pants.

Casual Dress is wearing clean Jeans or Cacki slacks. The Jeans should be clean and not faded. The top could be a nice dress shirt or a nice pull over. The shoes could be sneakers and make sure they are clean. You don't have to wear a special color like black.
Just make sure the colors are coordinated. Don't wear pink poka dots with purple stripped pants.

Just dress the same way you would dress if you were going to the mall or to hang out with friends. Look decent, but not formally. Jeans and a t shirt is fine.

Nice jeans, new looking, with a nice shirt. A cotton print would look nice that buttons up the front but a nice pull over polo would be fine too. It's causal but not sloppy or over dressed.

Casual dressing means casual dressing. And yes, sometimes it does get a bit messy, there's no harm in wearing a funky top and jeans. It's just not asking you to go in your best evening gown.

Your outfit sounds appropriate.
I doubt black pants are necessary if you are unsure still about the jeans you can wear khakis

I would go with the jeans,....if it were a cocktail party I would go with the black pants...but this means don't wear clothes you don't want to get stuff on...have fun...I hear they are fantastic..!!!

that means wear something comfortable, but i wouldnt wear a good shirt and know its gonna get ruined
