My children ages are 8,6,2 and 4 months. My husband and I would like to take the kids to Disneyworld. Looking for a good deal. Most hotels only accomidate a family of 4. Any suggestions?

I keep plugging the Ft Wilderness Cabins.... here is a great example... they sleep 6.... there is a queen and bunk beds in a bedroom and in the living room there is a murphy bed that sleeps 2 more.... each unit has its own kitchen.

A boat takes you to and from the Magic Kingdom ... which I always thought was great when I was a kid and as an adult.
The wings of the contemporary sleep 5 and you can ask for a crib or bring a pack and play.... rooms are really large so it is do-able without feeling cramped.

I would suggest going during the "off-season" times. you can check the Disney World website. Usually the Sept. timeframe is cheap, but you risk the weather. You can also try to find a hotel that is off-site, many of those are less expensive, but you will most likely need to rent a car to get around-if you stay on Disney property you won't have that worry.

Contact the Disney resort people. With 2 of your children being so small, they may not even count them in the room. (I am not sure of the age limit, so you should check)

There are a number of travel agents out there that specialize in Disney travel, however, whenever I go there, I book hotel and tickets directly through them, then I book my own airfare through the airline's website, (I have always found it cheaper). I have gotten quotes from one of those "specialty" agents and it was actually a few dollars (not much) more than doing it myself. This might be the way to go, as you would have some professional counsel to help with the ins & outs of it all.

Let me know if you are definitely going, I can give you some tips on the parks and how to save a few dollars while you are there.

Good luck and hope you have a great trip.

Rent a house for the week. The money you save by cooking your own meals and packing lunches (not to mention the time) will more than compensate for extra expense of a house. Also a house comes with a washer and dryer, you can pack lighter knowing that you will be able to wash clothes. The added bonus is that there are more bedrooms and people can have a better night sleep than wen you all cram into a hotel room and the kids fight over who has to sleep with who.

The last time I went was in a grop of 8 and we were so glad to have some personal space at the end of the day as well as a private pool and numreous bathrooms.

good luck!

I recommend renting a private pool home or condo. You can get a much bigger and nicer place to stay for the same amount or less than staying in a hotel. You can find hundreds of houses to rent at vrbo.com. The nice thing about renting a home is that you won't have to share a bedroom with the kids,no sharing a pool, you save alot of money on food and since vacation homes typically come with a washer and dryer you won't have to pack a ton of stuff for the kids...I know that comes in handy when you have little ones especially. Alot of vacation homeowners also offer baby item for your use, like car seats, high chairs, toys Etc....

You can check into the Disney Vacation Club condos. There are some that sleep 8. The villas also offer kitchenettes. The convenience of being on Disney property can't be beat and you get to enjoy the resort's amenities.

I would recommend a villa Because you have your own private pool and it is less costly than paying for two conjoined hotel rooms.I have stayed at this house just last summer and the house has plenty of room to accommodate everyone. And this house is themed out in Disney. The web site is orlandodreamvacation.net.He has two houses and his rates are reasonable they start at 800.00 thru 1,000.00 a week depending on when you are going. And also check out this web site for tickets to all the theme parks.orlandosavers.com they have good prices on tickets good luck. If you like you can e-mail me at trenanorwood@yahoo.com

i have a family of five, but when i went to disney world one year ago, we were able to get "connecting rooms", when we had two rooms conjoined by a door. it may cost a bit extra, but its very convienient, considering the fact that you have a lot of people and will need that extra room. if you are hoping to do this, staying at one of the disney value resorts (all-star music, sports, movies, or pop century) is probably your best bet, since they are the cheapest (we stayed in the all-star music). However, now they have a family suite in the all-star music that can hole up to six people, so i recommend that you stay in that hotel.

good luck, and have the time of your life!! : D

I recommend that you guys stay in a suite nearby. The Lakes Suites, located 5 miles from the Walt Disney World Resort, in Kissimmee, is an excellent choice. You and your family could stay in a bi-level suite, complete with a full kitchen, at only $89 a night or less. The Sheraton Safari Resort is a bit more expensive at about $134 a night, but is a very nice resort (with kitchenette) and is located across the street from Downtown Disney.
