The reason they did not agree with the war is because their finger was in the pie. It all comes down to money. France has (had) many financial interests in Iraq. Also the amount of middle easterners living in France made them afraid to anger Iraq for fear of terrorist threats. What will happen when they hit the Eiffel Tower? The last time France was a great country was with Napoleon, since then they are cowards, (2 months for the Germans to roll into Paris as VICTORS) Ran away from Vietnam. France is the reason the EU will never make it.

Well, I didn't agree with the Iraq war, either. Anyway, I visited France in 2006 and they appear to be very nice people.

Nope -- they're still a--holes, just because they oppose the US no matter what they do, doesn't mean they had any special insight into the Iraqi situation -- in fact they had a lot of financial dealings with Saddam's regime that they wanted to protect and keep quiet
