I am the product of an extremely stoic, heartless, VERY German mother... None of us are touchy feely... Kissy or huggy and none of us see the point in it. I certainly don't knock it... Just don't do it to me and we'll all be fine! I am a big time respector of the 5 feet of personal space! I covet mine!
I am not the most affectionate person in the world as a result...Except with my kids, they love to snuggle and I allow it although I don't like it much.
No biggie... I have no diseases and I allow myself the time to evaluate a person, before just jumping into a situation with them...
Sometimes when you are overly affectionate you fail to see things in perspective for a lack of the distance you sometimes need to assess people and personalities objectively.

Affection can comes in many shapes and forms. Though hugging and kissing may be one method, they are certainly not the only ways of showing affection or being affectionate.

Huh, yeah its pretty normal. Our family we tend not to hug, kiss or any of emotion stuff. However for our oldest members of our family like the Grandma's they love to hug and kiss, they usually tried to make us more like them however it doesn't work.
Yeah there are a lot of families out there like ours its normal! The time is changing so are people and families!!!!

Bad experiences, trust issues are the main reasons, and most of the time they we not brought up in an affectionate environment so they don't know how to show it. They were never tought it.

Are you married to a Virgo? All kidding aside yes its normal for them. But, I would still ask about giving back rubs etc. Have him wash your back. Tell him you want a kiss every night before bed.

most of us base our modes of showing affection on what we have learnt when we are children. from parents and people we've grown up with. some people do seem to have no affection. truth is all of us have signature styles of showing our affection. maybe the person u're talking about just grew up seeing people not show too much of it and still care for each other. and again showing and feeling are two completely different things.

I should think it is for I'm that way. I don't like being hugged or kissed by strangers or even relatives unless it's by close relatives.

Probably the way they were raised by their parents. Some families teach different ways, and history in their household. History, and origin play a part also.

It depends on comfort level, the way one is socialized, and the age group they come from.
