Hacking does exist. If you use security software (Firewall; anti-virus; anti-spy-ware) you should be relatively safe.

Hacking exists and your personal information is out there in cyber-land whether you put it there or not. If you have a bank account a social security card, a credit card, a mortage, whatever, your information is being stored on a computer that could be potentially hacked. So staying away from computers won;t make you safe. If you use good security software, and do not post your information to sites which might turn around and sell them, or use them inappropriatly you will be as safe online as off.

hacking is still going on with the no. of increasing crack sites, terrorism, serial sites etc.
it is not yet finished nor it can be in maybe the coming next 10 - 20 years.
now hacking is becoming like a profession which is growing on and inspiring people to do so thinking it is glorious.
For instance a child in my class (shashank kaul - a bit mental) started on with hacking in to the school server to create an administrator account to access internet at school. he used to say that he is working for some hackers at the computer company called HCL wit a guy ( JOHN - as he says) as a major commander and a local gunda (gangster) who paid him Rs.15000 ($300-USD) per month for hacking.
he doesn't know anything in computers and by was able to make an adm. ID and started calling himself a hacker.
this made all the guys of the class jealous of him and some of them were able to make a adm. id and also started calling themselves "hackers". so it is difficult to stop all this.

hacking comes in many forms.... usually hackers will target computers that have intrest or value to them.

Like a credit card companies mainframe computer, or their ex-girlfreinds computer....

So you really shoulden't worry too much about this unless you pissed off your ex-boyfriend, who happens to be a computer wiz... lol

but yes, technically every single computer in the world can be hacked.... even the ones that are not on a network..... :)
