You seem to lack the ability to empathize, but, not the ability to erroneously, judge other human beings. Can you put yourself in someone else's shoes?
Imagine, you believed the LIES, joined the military and because of that your life has been shattered. Imagine you hear your president say, "Bring it on." Imagine you don't have the manpower, equipment, leadership or plan to win. Imagine you face prison for both following orders and refusing to follow orders? Imagine, instead of being greeted, you're viewed as the enemy? Imagine you've not been told about DU, depleted uranium.
The soldiers are not always able to express their views. Some were at the UFJP anti-war rally on Saturday. A few years ago, one asked about body armor at a press conference with Rumsfeld, remember him? Another photographed the prisoners at Abu Graihb, remember those images? Some have served tours and refused to go back, but, you have a stone in hand for them, don't you?
The soldiers are mainly National Guard, the outfit G.W. was in, and some went in for the same reasons as G.W., also. Some are heads of families, how does infinitely many tours impact their families, does it matter to you? What part of "stop loss", do you not find fault? Did ANY of the soldiers know this was a possibility?
What part does decreasing the budget for the VA play in your view of all volunteer military? Are the budget cuts honorable? After all, this is an all volunteer military, so, why should you pay for their injuries and treatment, right?
The person who deserves your scrutiny is the president, unless you enjoy being made a fool.

I have spoken to few soldiers who have returned from Iraq from not just one tour of duty but at least two terms of duty. Most state that the war is not going good for the USA. Poor planning from the top and unwilling to listen to those who know how to conduct war. Chaney and Rumsfelt are the two Bush listened to and look what they have created.
How many of the conservatve supporters of the war have a son or daughter fighting in Iraq?

It wouldn't matter as Soldiers are trained to obey the laws
and for that they would not express their true opinion, I
know I was a soldier for 22yrs and I could not express
my true feeling about Viet-nam without being slam-dunked
later, so they have no say so,only the generals and they
will always go with what the president says as they are
always looking for that next star.

Why don't you go fight along side them get their opinions and then come back and tell us how you feel about the war? A large majority of the soldiers signed up after 9/11 to fight terrorist not to play ref/police to a civil war that had not one thing to do with us until bush got the U.S. involved. I know a large part of the National Guard did not sign up to fight INTERNATIONALLY...why don't you stop thinking conservative/liberal and start thinking American and patriotic?

You should listen to NPR sometime. They interview soldiers on both sides of the debate. It is rather interesting to hear the pros and cons coming out of the battlefield. You should be leery of getting caught up in the black and white debate. There are levels of gray that tend to get overlooked. The question you should be asking is what will the war ultimately accomplish? and How long will it take and how much will it cost?

I ought to agree that KK's answer is remarkable. I even have close acquaintances in the militia who I even have talked in super element. KK is acceptable...the popular public of them think of that they are there for the splendid motives, and that leaving could be stupid. in addition they ALL experience that the liberal mainstream media are terrorists and can want to brutally beat the he11 out of them. people like Michael Moore-on look long and troublesome for people who enlisted only for the college classes and are crying of their pillows at night. There are just some. As for the guy who mentioned that we ought to continuously ask the Iraqis how they get excitement from us "destroying their united states" they're very almost a hundred% appreciative. The media additionally has to look a together as to discover people who do no longer want us there. There are some stongholds that are controlled by skill of the terrorists and that they hate us. different than that, progression is better than the media will record, ethical is intense, and the Iraqis proceed to deliver water, candy, and foodstuff to grant to our squaddies. don't have self belief the mainstream media.

I have spoken to those who have served in Iraq and have unanimously heard that they do not know what they are doing there and are behind bringing the troops home. You also forget that those who sign up are not fully informed with respect to stop loss orders and the like. A friend of mine, a reservist, was kept there quite a while when he only expected to go for a few months.

The military is overwhelmingly in support for the mission in Iraq. I work part time helping veterans find employment and I have spoken to over 100 returning Iraq and Afganistan vets. I have not met one yet that did not believe in the mission. I know this is antidotal but it is true.
I have also spoken to returning vets assigned to counter terrorism units. One in particular told me his small unit in the spring of 2006 uncovered 1000's of serin nerve gas cannisters predominantly made by Russia and France. This was very lightly reported in the main stream media if at all.

I ask my nephew. ( USA Marine ) He states "The war is not going well in Iraq due to the war being wrong. There were no WMD and Iraq did not do 9-11. Iraq is no threat to the United States "AND" the Iraqi people do not want the USA in their country." He went on to tell me the American troops do not want to be in Iraq. ( Note: He was also at the Anti War protest this past week to let the world know the USA is wrong to be in Iraq ) It was a peaceful protest and I'm proud of him. He goes to Iraq in April or early May. However, he is doing his best to get out of going to Iraq.
