They're not going to spin it. They want him to take the fall for Rove and Cheney.

Perhaps this way:
From MBA Libby Trial
Liveblogging as of 12:05 EST: Testimony turns to four sets of 'talking points' Martin was using to provide guidance for Administration officials. Libby saw all of the talking points, and never recommended adding the fact that Valerie Plame worked at CIA to any of them.
I fear that the defense will say that Fleisher was more guilty than Libby when it came to outing Plame. However, that is not what Libby is on trial for--it is for lying to the grand jury.

Who knows. I'm sure it will be interesting.
I'm really getting tired of all this "I know you are but what am I" level of political discourse, even if I don't care for Bush.
Note: my father served in cryptography in the South Pacific and was quite well acquainted with the concept of classified information. He said that the outing of an agent is treason and punishable by death.
How 'bout that?
This whole administration is rife with scandals, bad intel and bad choices. And how do the Bush supporters respond? "Oh.....Clinton did this, blah, blah." Or they find something insulting to say about Hillary or Barak.
Hey folks, if you're not praying that the next administration is an IMPROVEMENT over this one, here's your sign, get in the lobotomy line over there.
Yes, Iraq is a real mess, and I don't have the answer to that, but we have some pretty pressing issues right here at HOME to deal with. Let's get down to business and quit quibbling about fluff issues like flag burning or gay marriages. If that's your idea of important, we're toast.....

Plame's husband outed her at a party & then again on the front cover of magazine. It does not seem as if they wanted to remain covert. All else is inmaterial since he did the outing.
Did Libby commit perjury? probably but the real question is does it matter in the big picture? probably not.
Plame never served overseas & does not have the same protections since she is a pencil pusher.

So, he committed perjury. He'll go to trial and receive punishment. Like all perjurors should. Or should I say, like all non-Democrat perjurors should. I don't recall Democrats acting like perjury was a big deal if it was a Democrat who lied. We believe crimes should have consequences.
Nobody asked or told Libbey to lie. And since he wasn't the one who leaked Plame's identity, he won't be charged for that.
In fact, nobody has been charged for leaking Plame's identity, so I guess it wasn't a crime?
So, other than perjury during the investigation of a non-crime, what nefarious acts do you imagine Libbey did?

A little harsh, J.G.
The "Bushies" will disown him, therefore washing their hands of this whole fiasco. Politically, everyone wins. The flip-floppy Dems blame the Reps for either allowing it to happen (should he be proven guilty), or point out that the Republican party is tearing itself apart by falsely attacking its own members (should he found innocent). Similar things could be said for the right-wing activists.

So lets just see here....
A man alleges a crime occured. There is an investigation. During that investigation, it is discovered that the crime never occured. But, during the investigation, someone violated a process crime. Therefore he is going to go to jail for lying about a crime that never occured.
It should not matter if he is a dem or a rep......this is clearly a government out of control.

I a Bushie wonder why nobody seems to focus on the fact had the press not reported it the whole world would have never known about it! The liberal media created the mess by doing what they do best report every 'leak' they can even if it endangers someone.

They IS going to spin it by saying that no crime has occurred. We did not "forget" that this is a show trial taking place because the prosecutor did not turn up a real crime.
How are the lefties going to spin the fact that they are grasping for straws?
