Did you sign up for the Blockbuster Rewards program? Once the trial period is up, they automatically bill your credit card for the service. You also may have signed up for auto-renewal of the program every year without noticing. Check into it further and find out why they took the cash before you do anything rash.

When you sign up for a membership you agree to all kinds of things you may not be aware of if you don't read the fine print. I have never had a membership with Blockbuster so I'm not sure what it says. When you enter into this agreement its like a contract. So you may have no recourse.

You could, but I am sure it would cost you more out of pocket. If you haven't already, contact your bank and let them know what happened. A complaint will be filed with them and if this is something that happens with the store frequently Blockbuster with do an internal investigation.

Sue them for what? Intentional infliction of emotional distress? Give us a break! How much money are you talking about? Ten, twenty dollars? Get serious.
In any event, contact them and give them a chance to credit your account. Maybe the person who is mistaken is you.

you might want to find out WHY they did it before you run to the courthouse. Did you rent a movie that went unreturned? Did someone else rent a movie under your name?? I would call company headquarters first. I'm sure it can be resolved if it's in error.

You should probably notify them first.
Maybe you can straighten it out.
If you have no replies, then you can sue them.
There's a better chance of winning the case that way.
