I have just bought a HP C7180 All-in-one printer. The main reason being that it said it was wireless. But, it will not connect wirelessly to my network. I have a Thomson/Speedtouch 580 router (from Tiscali) and I have 1 desktop and up to 3 laptops connected to it which all work fine (wireless). When I try to set up the printer using the network wizard (on the printer) it finds my network, I type in the WPA-PSK passcode, then it says it cannot connect. I have set up the printer mac code on the ACL on the router to allow the printer to connect but still no joy. I tried reducing the security level to WEP and it worked fine, however I prefer the higher security. I have now connected the printer to the router with a cable and that works but the printer is in the wrong place and the whole point was to be wireless. I have tried HP website and phone and they were useless. Nothing on the Speedtouch website either. Anyone got any advice - should I be able to do this or am I dreaming?

Well, you seem to be pushing the limits of a regular wireless router, however, if your Wireless Router has MAC address filtering, then define the printer in as part of the wirless system, and that should work.
The printer should have a Server sort of system to work with more than one printer, or at least a Spooler that enables it for multiple PC use

you assert you're linked to the Router for internet objective. Then the question is are your structures able to chat with one yet another only like in a community. the substantial ingredient is whether or no longer the two the desktops are able to hook up with one yet another. once you community a printer, It does no longer advise that the printer may be used quickly without the gadget the place the printer is put in except you have an Ethernet interface on the printer itself. in case you want to apply the printer via a community, you extremely will could create a community between the very own pc and the computer. as quickly as sharing is desperate and the two the desktops are present day in community community, sharing the printer and installation the printer on the computer would be quite straightforward.
