Lubricate the tuning keys. Look at the POS-looking thing Willie Nelson plays - has a hole in soundboard and all. Don't get a new one if you don't want. But, you could get it refinished.

I play, teach, and horse-trade guitars on the side, so...

Like some of the other posters mentioned, take the guitar to your local shop- get one with an in-house tech, so you don't have to wait three weeks while it's sent out. Explain the situation, they'll look at it, and while it's in, have them do a 'setup'- adjust the action and intonation, put new strings on it that are the proper gauge, etc.- it 'll probably cost in the neighborhood of $50(that's without whatever work needs to be done on the tuners-more than likely a little oil will fix any problems there), and it's worth it- it'll feel like you're playing a new guitar...

Well you can replace them for one thing most music stores have new machine heads or can get them for you or you could lubricate them with graphite or silicon spray for the best result take them off the headstock clean them lubricate them and reinstall them you should take only one at a time off so you do not loose any or forget which one goes where it is allot easier than it sounds and you will have the opportunity to get to know your Axe allot better trust me there is no better feeling than doing some maintenance on one and then reaping the rewards it is only as mysterious and complicated as you let it be do not be intimidated by the prospect it sure beats the he*l out of buying a new Guitar.

If I were you I'd either get it professionally fixed so I didn't mess it up, or just put it up on my wall and get a better guitar. A newer one would probably be easier to play...
