plz help me with these math problems
a) find the points of intersection of the live x-2y=5 and the hyperbola xy=88
b) find the small integer of such that f(a)=o and then factorize f(x)=1ox^3 + 104x^2 + 34x - 60

xy= 88 --> x = 88/y
88/y -2y =5
88 -2y^2=5y
2y^2 +5y -88 = 0
y= [-5 +/-(sqrt(25-4*2(-88))]/2
y= (-5 +/- 27)/2
y = -16 or y = 11
So x = 88/y= -5.5 or 8
The points of intersection are (8,11) and (-5.5, -16)

-1 is the smallest integer making f(x) = 0 so (x+1) is a factor.
f(x)= (x+1)(10x^2+94x-60)
= (x+1)(x+10)(10x-6)

a) first change the formats to y =mx + b because it's easier to work with.
x - 2y = 5
to chance this to y =mx + b format first subtract x from both sides
-2y = 5 - x
now divide both sides by -2
y = (5 - x)/2
now the other equations xy = 88
divide both sides by x so you have
y = 88/x
Now to figure out where they intersect set the two equations equal to each other... that is
(5 - x)/2 = 88/x
Now what you want to do is get all the like terms on one side of the equations so to get ride of the two multiply both sides by 2
(5 - x) = 176/x
now mulitply both sides by x
(5 - x)x = 176
then distribute the x and you get
5x - x^2 = 176
now subtract 176 from both sides to get
-x^2 + 5x - 176 = 0

(5+2y)*y =88 so 2y^2 +5y -88=0 y= ((-5+-sqrt(377))/4

For each y you find x going to x= 5+2y
b)f(-1)=0 so factorizing f(x)= (x+1)(10x^2+ 94x-60)

solve for y, subtitute to find the x values that correspond.
