Because we are made in God's image and all other creatures can just go and die and rot away. We will be saved. Anyway, that's what it says on this piece of paper.

Then when the tsunami struck why did the animals move inland beforehand?
Human beings are the only species to possess what is termed 'metaconcsiousness.' What this means is that whilst other species do display consciousness, we are the only species which is aware of our own consciousness. This is a unique ability of the human cortex, which has evelved over millions of years. (When I say evolved, I am not denying God, I just don't believe the creation story as told in the Bible).
I believe the next phase of our evolution will occur one day. We will develop for instance a 'super-cortex,' but knowing our medical people, individuals who sprout this 'abnormality' will probably be elected for medical surgery to remove it.
Will we prevent our own evolution?
What do you think?

The aspect that sets us apart from any other animal including all other homonids is art. Art appears at the same time as Homo sapiens, the question therefore becomes what is the use of art?
Everything produced by other species is 100% practical.
There is a step change between the tools of Homo sapiens and eg. Homo neanderthalensis which may mean that Homo sapien's art is simply a biproduct of the increased ingenuity of humans.
On another line of thought everything that is described as a religious artifact is a work of art, how closely is art and religion intertwined?

i read somewhere that the possibility to comprehend symbols has been crucial for the development of the civilization. So I reckon that is the difference between the animal brain and ours. They cannot think symbols.

trust me animals comprehend things that we do not.
we just adapted.
dogs can smell things we have not a clue about.
they understand the world in ways we don't.
fish know about living in the water and finding food - things we cannot comprehend.
predators understand things like how to sneak up on prey that we don't.
we just understand the things we need to to survive in our niche, we are social animals so we need social stuff.

evolution -- humans are not the only animal that could do advanced things. Chimpanzees and other apes can still utilize tools. Other hominids that have now gone extinct buried their dead and engaged in primitive painting.

It is a mystery. It doesn't have anything to do with eating meat. Perhaps more with finding enough food over-all with farming.

becouse we were made to rule over the other animals. therfore we can comprehend almost everything. but other animals carnt even comprehend that if you are holding a gun to there face and they try to bit they will die.
we were made in gods image and so we were made with brains that could comprehend the works of god. animals were made as companions and we were said to rule over them (be masters to).

This happened over thousands and thousands of years through evolution.
...Or you can ignore scientific reasoning and say it's because of God. Whatever floats your boat.
