I believe we inherit our political leaning from our parents, like our eye and hair color. How else could two reasonably intelligent people have such different views on the same subject and feel so strongly about them?

--That some days, I'm not entirely from *around here*, as in of this world. Really, if I were as "human" as I seemed, and really *from this Earth*, you would think by now I'd have an easier time of things, that it wouldn't be so hard for me to get a life and keep it together.
You'd think if I was from around here, I'd know how to live here and be able to do it in a way that doesn't suck, *lol* :))
Only question is, Alien, Mutant, 5th Dimensional, Android or Just Plain Loony? *lol* :) (nah, I'm not cute enough to be an android, scratch that)
--I don't have *quite* enough evidence to prove it as yet, but there are some signs that seriously...one can statistically infer that people are going to *change* soon. That we will have a new species of humanity among us. That, for want of a better word, that some of us are going to become "transhuman", and get Abilities Above and Beyond Those of Mortal Men (yep, think _Heroes_ on TV, among other things).
The only real question is, in evolutionary terms: how long have some chunks of the human population--mainly the Richest of the poor nations, and the Poorest of the rich ones--been isolated socially and reproductively, and will mere reproductive isolation be enough? I mean, that is where you'd look because that is where selection pressures for reproductive success would *still matter* without being absolutely crushing.
But yeah. I can see it coming, know *how* it is going to happen, the missing link seems to be *when* because of the isolation issue. For all I know it may well have already happened and we just aren't aware of it yet, for whatever reason.
And I think some of that is just rarity and probability for you.
Consider: most folks think that if people get Cool Powers, it will be from a mutation. But, in terms of real life genetics, that isn't the case. Greater apes became smarter than monkeys, and Humans smarter than the whole lot, courtesy of something called a *transposon*, not a mutation. Basically, some virus, bacteria or parasite was common enough in our distant past that we ended up swapping DNA.....and by common enough I mean nearly universal. But don't take my word on this:
http://www.sciencenews.org/
Search that site for the phrases "Alu transposon" and "primate nerve growth". It's in there. But here is the kicker.
Anyone who does genetics will tell you that transposons are really common with *plants* and their parasites, but *extremely* rare with animals....like a million times rarer. Which is understandable, but....
How many humans are there again? Billions. As in thousands of millions. As in, even if this were a one in a million shot....300 Americans would be effected, and a few thousand each in China and India would be too. And the proof is there that the transposon thing has already *happened once* with the greater apes.....
But yeah. There is some circumstantial evidence to suggest that People will get their Cool Powers soon enough, but how soon? And there isn't much in the way of direct *proving* this, yet.
Which is a pity as we could use the change. ^_^
Thanks for your time. :) Have a good one!

I'm with Jay, penguins are so plotting to destroy us and take over the world! WE MUST STOP THEM!!!!!! lol just messin, ummmm lets see i dont beleive in god, ghosts, any of that crap, but I guess I do believe to some extent that theres is other life in the universe besides us, there has to be, It'd be pretty self-centered to think that we're the only living beings in the universe. The universe is so masive that we will probably never live to see the day when there is extra-terestrial life discovered but come on, we can't be the only intelligent life in this giant universe.

I believe I am not waisting my money going to Italy for a year. My mom thinks that it is a big mistake and it seems I just can't express to her enough how important this is to me....she believes it is a mistake. I'll prove her wrong one day. Though, I do not know how I will yet...but I believe it!

Something I believe but can't really explain and I absolutely cannot prove is that God exists, reincarnation is true, and that what happens after this life is based on what fate had planned for you and weather you accomplished it or not.

good for you, K, never identify "who you are" by your employment. we are all far more than "what we do". in this culture far too many people have been "trained" to believe that they can only measure their intrinsic "value", by their status and income. this is merely another ploy by the "powers that be", to aid in keeping the "peasants" insecure and disempowered, and, thus, to help insure their primacy. i believe that we are vastly powerful, multi dimensional beings, who, if we make the effort, can realize our full potential. such takes discipline and effort. but, my experiences so far tell me it's far more than worth the time and effort expended. meditation, energy work: chi kung, yoga, etc.will get you moving in the right direction. see, for example http://www.sahajayoga.com http://www.worldofsouls.com http://www.crystallotus.com and for some "re-education on what's "really going on" on this planet http://www.educate-yourself.org and http://www.montalk.net eyeopening!! best of luck ;-)

i believe the world and everything in the world has a mind of it's own, although not all things speak, but how do we know it does not speak, sunsets, beautiful lakesides, flowers blooming, snow falling, etc. they need not to speak, their actions speak louder than words. if ever you're alone in the wilderness, be not afraid, cuz everything, like i say "has a mind of it's own" you r not alone out there.
