no b-control method is 100% effective.
Yes you can go see a doctor who can help you without letting your mother know about it, but it will be better to go to somebody or go with somebody you already know and can trust.
cause if the b-control you are using fails, your mom will know about it... :-)

Call your local planned parenthood. I do believe there are laws that you can get birth control without your parents consent. They don't even take your insurance so no one knew you were there. It's called Family Planning around here but look under reproductive health in the phone book, you should be able to find them.

Yes!!! especially at 17 you are not a child but a young woman, US federal law protects women age 15+ rights to confidential, low cost birth control.

It depends on where you live, but normally yes. Go to planned parenthood or your local physician, they will be able to get you started on birth control. Or you could always just buy condoms, not only do they prevent pregnancy but also those nasty STD's. At least you are forward thinking enough to want to protect yourself...Good Going!!! Good Luck!

yes your gp can offer you all sorts of advice on what will suit you best.
if your mum finds out, its because you've left a pack of pills lying around- tell her your having heavy periods and the doc recomended the pill helps you have light periods. this statement is true.
or go on the jab.its a little needle in the top of your bum every 10 weeks. that way your mum wont find pills lying around and she needen ever know

It proboly depends on where you live. I live in AZ and I know it is illegal without your parents. You realy should talk to your mom though. She might be more understanding than you think. It's better to tell her now and protect yourself then get pregnant at 18.

"I don't want my mommy to find out... she'll take away my cell phone..."
Seriously, if that is your major excuse, grow-up and speak to your mother about it. Otherwise, you aren't even old enough to be having sex.
