dead and no start means dead battery. $55.

I would of ditched it when I heard head gasket....now that you have done that major work....might as well keep it for while as you will never recoup your money invested.

cobalt is not a great car by the way.....just a redesigned cavalier and that was a joke.

new impala would be a better choice as its not a Chevy product but a imported Opel product from a division of GM from the UK. All the new Saturn cars are imported Opel's as well. Opel is by far better than Chevy, Pontiac, Saturn. Its why GM is importing them now to save those companies from failing.

I had a 1995 Eclipse Turbo, Manual. Bought the car in 1995 new. Great car, lots of power. However, at about 120K things started to fall apart. Turbo, clutch, breaks, rims, etc. were all going at once. I had already replaced the head gaskets when a belt pulley broke! My mechanic told me he has never seen this before in an engine only 7 years old! Even though the car was great, the cost of keeping it on the road was just not cost effective.

In the turbo models the engine was made by Mitsubishi but the body was still made by Chrysler. The non turbo models had Chrysler engines...heard they had heaps of issues.

If you do decide to keep the car make sure you put a LSD on the front axle. Otherwise you will burn the right front tire faster than the left!

after spending time on the car, and spending money on the car i would keep it, i am a mechanic appretnice, and the problem sounds simple. all you need to do is get the battery checked, get the alternator checked, get the plugs checked and just replace the bad parts, and the problem should be fixed

My brother-in-law has the same year Talon and as you know is the same car. You have just begun to see the problems this car can give.

Cut your losses and get a car with warranty.
