I agree with car dude. belts on this machine are supposed to slip and are designed to do so. Use only the original belts and not an automotive equivalent. I would inspect the rollers though before replacing them. Not expensive but might be more work than you want to do on an old machine.

Run the washer empty. Stick something in the interlock button like a pen or screwdriver so that you can leave the lid open while it is running.
Now watch the system run, specifically during the rinse cycle, and pay attention to how the water is dispersed. In many older models the water will kind of spray from the center. If the water is not getting to all areas of the washer see what you can do about cleaning the areas where the water comes out. But troubleshoot first, see what is happening, then ask another question.
You can try to run a couple empty loads with super hot water and no detergent. There may be a build up of detergent clogging the rinse lines.

that's a good old machine, if you can keep it going consider it, because the new ones aren't going to last that long. call an appliance parts store with your model # and get the price of new belts and a roller kit. if you haven't replaced them in the last ten years, it's time. the belts and motor carriage rollers are the whole thing that makes it wash, then spin. once tightened up with the new parts you should see a difference. while i am suggesting things, how old are your hoses? it might be a good time to do those while you have the machine out. good luck, hope this helps.

It is time to buy a new washer. If it is 20yrs old then it is not water or energy efficient. It will save you more money in the long run to buy a new one now.
Good luck.
