Are you overweight or underweight? Do you have any other medical problems? When did you first start menstruating?

Overweight girls can be anovulatory due to Polycystic Ovarian Disease. In this case, it would be good to talk to an OB/GYN and make sure that your endrometrium isn't building up too much. This can cause cervical cancer and other problems.

Underweight girls (especially those who are anorexic) put a lot of stress on their bodies and alter their hormones to cause anovulation. You should get to a healthy weight an talk with an OB/GYN to make sure that you get back to a healthy hormone balance.

Finally, problems with your thyroid, diabetes, and other underlying medical problems could cause anovulation.

Young women in the first few years after starting menstruation often experience variations in how often they get their period. Your body is sill learning how to handle the new hormones, etc. Just like women who are ending their periods experience the same thing--they are closing shop.

My daughter went through something like this at your age. I took her to my OB-GYN
and after a complete checkup, was given (with my consent) birth control pills which did eventually regulate her monthly periods to somewhere near normal.
When my daughter was a bit older, she was able to conceive a child, but between the first child and the second, ten years went by without the use of any contraceptive pills.
You may have similar problems starting out with this now. Keep regular appointments yearly with your OB-GYN just to stay on top of this.
Good luck.

My cycle is the same way. I'm 28 now and am having infertility issues because of the crazy periods. You should definitely get it checked out. You might have cysts, fibroids, thyroid problems, a hormone imbalance, or an STD. If you are sexually active it is even more important to see a doc. If you don't have access to one &/or don't want to talk to your parents about it, try Planned Parenthood. They are nice, free, & confidential!

Other than your complete lack of writing skills, you're probably ok.
