It is hard to find a decent job out there...with no felony. A convicted felon has an additional obstacle and has to work twice as hard. Now there are obstacles, but believe it or not, most fields are still going to be open to you if you are rehabilitated and qualified. More doors will become open to a felon as he puts some distance between the present time and the date of the conviction.

One area that may be good if you don't have any trade skills or advanced education is Sales. A lot of employers in sales will hire a salesman on one condition: HE CAN SELL--period. A person can try to find a reputable sales job, and if he is trustworthy and works his *** off, he can make great commission and move up in the company.

Acually its almost impossible to have a good career after getting felonies. Most jobs wont even look at the app if it has one. Especially a theft charge. Thank conservatives for that. They have this idea that even if you did something 10 years ago your still considered a "criminal". Your best bet is becoming friends with a business owner and THEN asking for a job when they know they can trust you, and then work your way up. This country is f***ed up like that

You can get a job anywhere that they are willing to hire you. It's a safe bet that you probably will not get a security clearance so I would stay away from applying to those types of jobs. Also, a criminal record is going to cause possible trust issues so don't apply for jobs where the trust thing might be a problem. Don't be afraid to start on a lower rung. Prove yourself to the company that hires you and you will be able to move up.

I first like to say No you can't just get a good job if you get a degree or if you're certified in something. The fact of the matter is no large company will hire you, no matter what distance you put between you and your past. I know I have two felonies. you might be able to get your felonies ex-sponged.Check out http://www.removeit.org I currently work at a restaurant because that's all that will hire me but I'm gonna save my money and One day I'll open my own business. It would depend on the serverity of your past crimes. Were they violent, white collar ? It also depends on what skills you have besides making license plates. Whatever you do, just be honest about your past, you have paid your debt to society, someone will give you a break. America loves a down on his luck case who is honest about it and truly wants to work hard. Good Luck, unless you were convicted of a crime against a Child, then FUGETABOUTIT

You can not get a license in many area, i.e. doctor, pharmacy, dental, CPA, law & etc. Sometimes the courts will give a exemption on these blocks but not often. Everything else other than politics is open to you.
