Yes you can wear red but I suggest sticking w/ a soft sheer red. You want a true, cool red - one that looks like your own lip color but better.
Revlon's Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Cherries in the Glow is a good one. It's an easy to wear shade that will emphasize you lips without overpowering your features.
Clinique's Almost Lipstick in Almost Red would be flattering too. This is a true, sheer red with a hint of gloss that adds a subtle oomph.
BeneFit has really good cream and sheer lipsticks. (www.sephora.com or www.benefitcosmetics.com)
BTW, Sephora's website has a beauty tutorial section that has good photos of different makeup styles.

Red lips can be quite classy as long as it's a shade that compliments your skin tone.

of course red will look good on you, it just has to be the right red. If you're a sunny golden blonde, I would choose a warmer red with gold shimmer in it and keep my eyes neutral with a sheer golden shimmery colour swept from lash to brow and either a thin dark brown or black eyeliner just on the top lid with black mascara. Use a bronzer or a neutral blush to bring colour back into your face as red can tend to wash the rest of you out, but you don't wanna go too pink or colourful with the blush and look clown like. Have fun on your date :)

You HATE a date next week? HELP!!!!!!
What are you trying to tell yourself??????
I don't think it matters who it is ... all that matters is how YOU look ... and if you like that, then that is for you. Personally,
I only like red and other dark lipsticks for on stage ... because the lights and the distance from the audience require it .... but for real life, it should be quite near your natural color and a little softened with gloss .... otherwise, you are into fixing your lipstick all the time ... and who wants that? In addition, should someone kiss you for real ... er....it is a bit messy! Otherwise, should you give a woman friend a kiss on the cheek, she will need to wipe it off and it might ruin her foundation if she is wearing any, and don't do that!!
Also, it messes up wine glasses .... and coffee cups .... and, should you be such a poor innocent, cigarettes.... woe!
You should be able to eat and wear off your lipstick without showing what is missing ...
You see, men really don't like certain things and women don't ask their opinions enough.... we ought to ask .... I have a brother and believe me...his answers have been very illuminating. For example, I once asked him if he thought a model in a magazine I was showing him was beautiful.... he answered, much to my surprise, that he thought she looked cross and angry! Well, I never .......!!!!! It changed my mind right then and there! I finally started looking at women the way men look at them... and believe me, it is not the same way women allow themselves to be persuaded to think men are thinking .... it's two different worlds and we would be far better off if we would find out what they REALLY like ...
sorry about the grammar ..and syntax or whatever!
Peace & Love!

It's a matter of personal taste. I personally don't like red lipstick. I prefer something with a little peach in it. I think you should try different colors on yourself then choose what you think looks best. You said fair skin. If you have light colored eyes too, I would go with a peach (love it) or a med. pink. Relax and have a good time on your date.

Sometimes it does look good in that case yes. Just use more of a bright red rather than a dark red. Dark red might make you look a bit scary.

Of course it does...look at scarlett johanseen...she can pull of red, no? She's a blond, no? She has fair skin, no? It just depends on the red you are using. If you are using romantic red ( a deep red) then eye make up is a no no, clear mascara if you must. If you are using pillarbox red (a bus red, a telephone box red) then black mascara is ok and a sheer layer of eyeshadow very similar to your own. If you are using a berry red then you can use black mascara and three shades of brown eyeshadow...hope that helps!

If you have flawless skin it will look really great, just keep eye make-up really bare. However I think because this is your first date with the guy right? Then you might be more approachable with a tinted gloss and rosy cheeks :) <3
