The Graduate is the best movie ever made. It's a good mix of comedy and drama, and is well-adapted from the novel it was based on. Additionally, it has amazing cinematography and editing, which means you can watch it several times and notice something new each time. It also was the first feature film to use popular music in the soundtrack. Even though its from 1967, it still holds up pretty well today...except the funny looking beer cans and a shot of a guy with a wicked afro.

well there are a lot of movies that would say are the best but if I have to pick it would be "Forrest Gump". I love all of the history they put in that movie. It may not be based on a true story but all of the events(Vietnam, AIDS, Elvis, etc.,) are true (but I guess you already know that). I also love how they made him a part of history. Like when he was in the war, taught Elvis how to dance, met the presidents in Nixon and J.F.K. talked to him, and was on an interview with John Lennon. This movie has a great soundtrack too. I especially love how they picked a lot of the Doors songs!

I'm not sure if I can say this one's the best, but one my favorites is "Blue Velvet". It has good actors (including my fav Dennis Hopper), a great plot, and good director. The movie is pretty much about how you can live in a perfect world with a beatiful life, and everything is great, but there is a sick twisted disgusting world underneath it all. It's not the kind of movie everyone would like, but I think it's one of the most underrated movies of all time.
Kinda hard to say which is the best movie, there are so many good ones out there!!

We all know the best movies are action?? I may lose out on 10 points...but are you mad??
My vote for the best movie ever made is Casablanca (1942) with Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart. It's a cultural icon, Bogart and Bergman's chemistry is impecable, there are so many great lines, and it has influenced many films that followed. It won the Oscar for Best Picture.
FAMOUS QUOTES:
"Play it again, Sam."
"Here's looking at you, kid."
"This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship."
"Round up the usual suspects."
And, my favorite:
Captain Renault: "I'm shocked to hear that gambling is going on in this establishment."
Waiter: (to the Captain) "Here are your winnings, Captain."

According to the SAG, the best movie ever made was 'Citizen Kane' but frankly I think that's a little boring.
I think, for me personally, the best movie is To Kill a Mockingbird. Maybe it's just coz we watch it every time it's on and never tire of seeing it, maybe because you can see something new every time. IMaybe it's coz it's got a character named Boo Radley! don't know why!

There are a lot of really good ones...but the best? Hmmmm. I cannot narrow it down. Here are my favorites:
Goodfellas - great story line and soundtrack
The Wizard of Oz - it's a classic
The Color Purple - it makes you laugh, cry, think and want to be a better person
Thelma and Louise - girl power never gets old. I could watch this everyday and not get tired of it!
American History X - great acting, makes you think

The best movie ever made is Ben hur. The battle scenes and everything are brilliant. Charlton Heston is a legend.
