I have heard that about San Antonio. Maybe I will get to visit someday cuz you made it sound like a nice place to visit. My friends who visited a few years ago loved it and my aunt and uncle loved it when they lived there for a few years.
My city, Jackson, Michigan is not so hot. Extremely economically depressed because it relies heavily on the auto industry. All of Michigan is going to sink like a stone fairly soon. Buy American!
Jackson has some beautiful parks and the people seem pretty friendly most of the time. We are excellent at raising money for charities even though people don't have much right now. There are dozens of beautiful lakes near by and Jackson is the home of the Michigan Shakespeare Festival which is really swell ( I forgot how much I love that word, thanks for reminding me).
Michigan International Speedway is also nearby but we also have Southern Michigan Prison which is a huge, huge bad place. There are tons of restaurants and a lot of the locally owned ones are terrific.
Tony Dungy, the Indianpolis Colts coach, was born and raised here and often retruns to give speeches which I think is neat.
Thanks for making me realize how much I love my own home town!

That is great
I love my town I have spent about 1/2 my life here. Everyone is friendly and the best part is I am in town but it is a small town so no or very little crime.
I think for the most part the south is just generally a friendly place because I have done a lot of traveling and up north it is not near as friendly

If you are an example of San Antonio foks, I bet it really is a friendly, warm place. Nice to see someone with some hometown love. I'm from Memphis, TN. Ain't no place like Memphis. It's hard to describe. My favorite is midsummer...walking down Beale Street...the smell of fire-cooked bbq ribs, the clinking of glasses filled with sweet iced tea, the laughter of the little groups gathered on the sidewalk....and the sound of old blues, heavenly blues, the finest music this side of the Mason/Dixon. It is not so much one thing as it is an experience, an immersion of...well...Southern-ness.

I love the smallness to it. I live on the border between two states, I work in one and live in the other, only a couple of bridges between. I like, too, how the community pulls together when they need to. You always run into someone you know when you're out and about. The population is around 80,000 give or take a few thousand, with both towns combined.

Well Im from New Jersey but I live about 10 minutes from Philadelphia, PA. This city is very cultural. I like the night life the best. Going to the clubs, and bars, and specifc streets filled with stores and music and people that are open all night. Unfortunately there is a lot of crime in Philly, but hey, we got the best cheesesteaks in the world and soft pretzels.

I love my Small quaint town. We have only 72 homes all are historic. It's quiet and sweet, everyone knows and cares about everyone. I love the way the Spring mornings glisten with dew in the beautiful country setting, I love the way the snow sparkles in the winter on the undriven roads. I love the beautiful colors on the trees in the fall and I love the way all my neighbors are working in there yards on the warm summer nights! Yah I am like you, I love where I live and I am proud to raise my kids here.

No. I'm retiring and moving to Austin, TX this summer. My son is being transferred from Phoenix, AZ where he was born and raised. I've never been to Austin, have been to Dallas, absolutely hated Houston (turned down lucrative employment a few years ago).
Michigan is OK if you like six months of winter and six months of construction barrels. Plus the economy has bailed.

i live in Lufkin,TX. It has a population pushing 35,000 but still small enough to find decent hardworking people. Yes, we still have bad apples but they haven't spoiled the bunch. I am within driving distance of numorous lakes and rivers. We can find quiet spots to have lunch or just watch the trees sway in wind. I love this place. stay safe.

Chicago!!!! It has matured over the years and the people here are really friendly. Yes we also have our bad apples but for the most part they are really good people. It's also gotten much cleaner since Daley got on the ball and cleaned everything up and got rid of a lot of the housing projects here. I LOVE CHICAGO!!!!!!
