Hi there! I like Unstoppable by Maybelline the best as it separates the lashes the best!
To answer your second question, you need to do coats of mascara. Wait about 1-2 mins between coats and make sure eat lash is separatated with an eyelash comb.
For this technique I think that boijois (or however you spell it sorry!) is good as the mascaras add volume!
I hope that this helps!

Maybelline ... not the waterproof kind...
you feather your eyelashes by applying several layers of mascara ... a little the first layer, a little the second, and .... gently a little the third.... be sure from the very start that they are brushed in the direction you wish to keep, because they will set that way very quickly ... be sure the mascara is dry between layers
why is it my favorite? I can't afford the more expensive ones and it has been around a long time....

I LOVE the mascara by Just For Redheads. They have really good formulas plus shades to flatter me (as yes, I am a redhead). I also really like Stila Major Lash mascara in Taupe. In fact, I use that first, and then I use my JFR mascara. If I want to go darker I use Bare Escentuals mascara in either auburn or brown, or I use Dior MaximEyes mascara in maxi brown. I love the way the lighter mascaras make me look more natural and not too made up. The Bare Escentual mascaras are really wonderful. They don't clump, they make your lashes really soft but is water resistant. The Dior mascara makes my lashes nice and fat - it's what I wore on my wedding day. It doesn't clump and it is a bit more dramatic than the other mascaras than what I wear everyday.
As for feathering your lashes, you need to wait until your mascara dries before applying a second coat (or any more coats), then use a lash comb to separate your lashes.

Revlon Colorstay overtime lash tint.
It 'tint's the lashes and stays on 2-3 days and is water (cry) & smudge proof. Unlike the regular mascaras, this won't start flaking even after you've slept.
I curl lashes 1st, layer once, let dry and feather with lash comb (which seperates lashes) the apply a second coat (which adds more length)

Maybelline Great Lash-the great standard of all time-its affordable, not sticky, and it doesn't clump...and my other favorite is Max Factor 2000 calorie-makes your lashes look very thick and full without clumping and also is not sticky (sticky-ness is a major turn-off for me!! haha).

Definicils by Lancome. It doesn't clump, lasts a long time and applies easily. Doesn't burn my eyes if they water. You can go natural looking or easily add more coats for a more dramatic look. I don't "feather". Sometimes my lashes do that on their own.

i have 2. lashexact by covergirl and 2000 calorie by max factor. i love lashexact because the brush truly never clumps. wish all mascara's had that brush. also it gives me length. as for the 2000 calorie max factor...it gives me super thick lashes...people always notice my lashes wearing this.
