you listen to love music, you think of your lover, you think about sex music, you think about sex...of course...so on so forth. music sets the mood for me, and can also change my feelings toward things. music sometimes brings comfort, knowning someone (the singer) is singing about the same problem you may be having now....

Music affects most of us. My dad used to hated me when I spent a whole week trying to dominate a violin by ear. I think one more day and I[ d be history already.

I play piano, guitar and computer. I hate some music to the point I get out of the place when it gets on my nerves... and I use music when I am doing model shoots in my studio. It is a miracle when they like what I play on my speakers .

Songs also affect communities and countries. Remember the loud rock n Roll in Viet? or the Marselleise being sung last centuries?

There is also some knowledge of plants and animals being taking care with music. For example Kobe cows /wich meat is served at restaurants about 20 times a standard plate/ are carefully grown in an environment qith soft music and massagges... and really.. that meat is great!

I should also menthion the myth crackers program on cable TV, when they experimented having plants growing measured under different types of music... they did not grow properly with many types, but love opera....

Well before that, egyptians built some resonator piramids to a single note in different octaves, and use alabastro vessels resonating loudly just to get in sync with ulteriors worlds...

What I know, is you can be sad and music makes your day fantastic.. or viceversa....

it does affect.

Music is my life. The right song can change my mood or express how i'm feeling. Music is the the soundtrack to life. Everything going on in our society is represented in the music we listen to. Back in the 60's the music was very political because the times they were living in were very serious. Now a days, people want to escape from everyday reality so the music is lighter and less meaningful. but music is everything. Music is love, life, happiness, anger, loneliness, heartbreak, unity, pain and pleasure all rolled up into one.

There are two approaches on music: the "how does it work" or prosaic one, and "can you enjoy it or not", or aestethic one. I imagine you ask about the first, and what i see or know (not ornly "think", but I verify all the time) is that music "works" as a mood or humor regulator, in two ways: it can induce an state of mind, or it can be tuned to reinforce an actual state. Psichiatrists say this is because of music's harmony and rithm relation with brain waves'... Inthe aesthetic approach... Well... Music becomes an individual and trascendent experience, or it seems like noise and doesn't.

Personaly my life is like a soundtrack. I have songs attached to almost every memory I have and certain singers, groups or types of music remind me of different people in my life. Also if it weren't for music I wouldn't be able to concentrate (I don't like complete silence). I have a song for each of my kids, most of my friends and several for my husband. Music also has a way of affecting my mood by making me happy. My husband thinks I take music too seriously. So I guess the answer to your question is it affects everything in my life.

The music a person listens to usually reflects their own intelligence and understanding so good or bad is all relative.

Although some exceptions apply... But usually with those intelligent enough to appreciate something for its shock value or its raw natured message without becomming that as a result.

I'm certain that Jay Z has found himself in appreciation of some good Mozart from time to time, and I'm sure that Mozart would have loved the crap out of Big Pimping too because in his life, he was a musical genius... and a decadent, lascivious mother fuc*ker with no respect for women!

Both men have/had the intelligence to understand that it's all hype, expression and show! Real life... shows in your tastes and style but it certainly shouldn't completely define who you are as a person. Some people do however get carried away and engulf themselves and their lives around one kind of music.

That, to me, is just a shame... It leaves you at a disadvantage.

Personally... I love everything from Opera to some kinds of Rap. Mostly alternative rock but everything really...

It evokes emotion. A certain song will remind you of an old love or a vacation spot or back when you where young and dumb without a care in the work. Music is like no other medium, it can make you cry, get you excited, get you mad and lull you to sleep.

Hell, I even make theme songs for parts of my life.
