temp vs permanent work?

Hiya,
I'm an Italian girl and I'm moving to England in a couple of months.
I have an italian degree but no work experience.
Do you suggest I start with temp work or apply for permanent positions straight away?
I've heard there are pros and cons for both and I really don't know where to start.
All I know is that I want to pursue a career in Marketing. I've already applied for a CIM part time course and, in the meantime, I basically just need a job to pay for my rent and bills (Admin work maybe?).

I suggest you temp. 1)That way you can change jobs if you don't like it and 2) try to get experience with companies that have large marketing departments you'd like to work for.

Getting a permanent job might not allow you the flexibility to get off to take your classes.

I would at least give resumes to both types of positions. You might be able to get a permanent job right off. But I would apply to temp work as a safety.

Personally I really enjoyed temping. It gives you a chance to experience lots of different types of working environments and if you want time of to study or go home to visit family there's no problem. Have you thought about working as an au pair, the money isn't great but your bills, food and rent is all paid.

i would apply for temp work to start with as you are more a ble to leave if you do not like it. apply for a permanent job in the meantime though just in case a really good one comes up.
