Ever see the movie Super Size Me ?? Try a derivative of that. Eat only fruits/vegetables for a week, and measure your weight, mood, body fat, energy level, etc. Moreover, contrast that to a family member who might eat only carbs for a week. What you'll find is how hard it is to find vegetables & fruits at (fast food) restaurants. And how expensive they are compared to something like chips or french fries.

Find something cool in science and make a model. (If it worked , it'd be better)
My favorite science fair project was either a rocket car I built (balsa wood and a model rocket engine) or the aerodynamics wind tunnel I built (plywood box with a fan on one end, with a paper airplane inside).
