My grqandmother says that my nose is very narrow and straight like a white persons. And everyone in my family is complemetning because I have a "good" nose.. This is making me mad because they said the same thing when my hair was long to my waist. Why do people make comparsions between good hair v bas hair and light skin v dark skin. ?

Dont worry about it. Im always being told i have a black person nose. I love my nose.
Its eayser for you to say you have a nose like a white girl then to say, You have a long slinder nose I like it.
When my nose is brought up 3 things are usualy said, You have a black nose, you have a cute nose, I love your nose. You nose is just diffrent from your familys and they like it.
Dont take offence to it. Same with your hair its diffrent and they like it. Everyone wants what they dont have. Them saying I like your hair its like a white person's would be the same as me saying I love your hair its so stright. No one likes everything about them.
next time someone says anything about your nose or hair just say thank you I like it too and be done with it.

I have a nose kinda like that too but noone has ever said that I have a "good" nose, that's really strange to hear someone saying that actually. I think more people will accept you and hold you in higher regard, if you have white features(narrow nose, long and straight hair( usually from chemicals) as opposed to Black features( broad nose, dark skin, kinky hair, thicker lips). I know it really sucks.

Oh my gosh not this racist propaganda! Even yr family buys into the idea that yr nose, yr hair, and your facial structure suddenly makes yr ethnic features "good." I think its all a load of bs. Many of yr black ancestors were just as beautiful with their so called nappy hair and 'big" black noses! African americans range in a variety of colors be it sandy to midnight black and becuase they look closer to their native colors does being light skinned make another black better than them? No. As a matter of fact hell no. i get this too hon i am clearly african american but when i talk ppl say i talk white. I mean what is this? Because I use a certain type of diction than i must be talking like a white girl? They even call me white girl and im so annoyed by it!

How old are you? If you don't know the answer to your own question by now then I feel real sorry for you. You do own a television right? You can read the newspapers right? Its all the media. It doesn't have anything to do with you being white or black or purple or whatever. The magazines and TV tell America what beautiful is. Most of those people happen to be white. But here is the problem...even most white people don't look like those white people. If you are getting compliments on your beauty be happy that you are not white and ugly.

Well, white and black people do tend to have different noses... As for the hair thing, I don't think black people ever have white hair because it's just different... But when you look at white peoples noses, they do tend to look different than black peoples. Not everyone, but a lot.

I would be so confused if some one were to tell me I have a mexican nose or something like that ( I'm cuacasion)
I can understand how that would make you mad, Sometimes when people make comments that make me mad, I find a way to make it into a joke about myself. A joke to where people will be too scared to comment off of. Try approaching it that way, the more you joke about it, the less they will make rediculouse comparisons.

I did observe that Indians have a tendency to have wider faces than Caucasians.

Why do people talk about how great God is and how bad the Devil is? It is that whole effect. Without evil there is no good. Without long hair there is no short hair, and without light skin there is no dark skin. Just be happy with who you are, and things will turn out ok.

Our people have had it drilled in their head that white is right so we are complimented for features that convey whiteness. Anyway, forget all that. You have a good nose and hair down to your butt? You would never have to worry about me commenting on your features, I would just enjoy them. Be cool and remember your family loves you and they mean no disrespect.
