Human will cause their own extinction because of selfishness and naive.
An example is fishermen. Their livelihood is fishes. Their lack of knowledage and regards of sustainable fishery has depleted the fish populations. There are still fishermen continue to poach and fish as much as they can regardless the limits and regulations. The results is they caught smaller fish and less in quantities. Many places, the industry has collapsed.
In a larger scale, human being is doing the same thing. We live off this planet yet we don't do enough to protect it. We are on suicide path with vast majorities of people not care and not knowing it.

That is not an easy question to answer because I am very biased. I would have to say, judging from the past species that have gone extinct, Nature will be the one to decide when we end. Life, however, in some form will still be around until the end of the universe.

Buddha believes each and every soul can attain enlightenment, via their very own movements and ideas. Our souls are guaranteed to the mortal international, and no longer able to realize the better state of beings because of our desires and thoughts. very similar to the unique Taoist ideals, one might desire to have the flexibility to forsake the mortal existence, and bypass away each and every thing in the back of, with the intention to flee the eternal cycle and dying and reincarnation.

History always repeats itself. Therefore nature will wipe us out , It might be a virus , such as avian flu or the black plague or we just may evolve into some other sort of life form. There is no doubt though that nature will reclaim the planet at one time or another.

Neither; I think people will continue to adapt and survive as a species; however, many will die from disease and war.
