I take Yazmin birth control pills and I want to skip the weeks worth of "period" pills and just go right into a new packet. Is this safe or will it harm something inside??

Yes, you can skip the month of placebo pills. You shouldn't do it forever because you do need to have your period, but doing it for 3 months or so at a time isn't bad.

While your body is getting adjusted to you not getting your period in between packages of birth control you may get some spotting or even get your period, because your body is not used to getting the hormones all the time.

If you are really worried about doing it though, you should just call you doctor real quick and as them.

Good luck!

You will be fine if you only do every once in a while... say only a couple of times a year. But if you feel like you want to skip more periods throughout the year, I would suggest you go to your doctor and get on the seasonal or other BC pills that reduce your periods to four times a year. These BC pills are more specialized for skipping periods... so in the long run would be better for you. Otherwise... if you just want to skip your period every once in a while with Yazmin, you should be ok. :)

I am on a different kind of birth control pill but I remember asking my doctor about skipping a period while being on the pill and she said with most pills it is safe to do that as long as you don't make a habit out of it.

I take Yazmin as well. Don't do that...your body needs to have a week of the hormones that are in the "period" pill week. Are you tyring to skip your period? I'm sure that if you wanted to skip it and just start a new pack you could, but you would be messing with the hormones and that isn't good and will probably give you bleeding when you don't expect it.

You have to wait first your period before you take birth control pills so that if the case that you are pregnant you will not harm your baby inside if your period dont come.

YES!! This is absolutely fine. My doctor told me i could do this for 3 months at time if I wanted. there is actually a pill design specifically just for that. It is called Seasonale(I think) My doc said i can do it with any brand of pills since the Seasonale is expensive. You can do it once it for 3 months at a time or just once in a while.

Basically birth control pills are descriminated by colors, so during the period you have to take red dark red or brown pills, it is by default like that, so just follow the instructions on wrapper or pills.

Yes it is safe. In fact there is a new BCP called Seasonale which only allows you to have your period once every 3 months. I have been on it for 6 months and I just love it. But you will be fine.

Don't do it, I would take the two weeks and then start the new pack. IF you mess it up all kinds of things could happen. Like you could have your period for a month straight or more.

I did that once and it screwed up my system, please take it the way the directions say to take it.

As for the Seasonale pills, the pills are set up so you only have four periods per year. Kariva, Yaz, etc are set up so you can have your periods monthly. So please don't skip any pills.
