College education, as much of it as you can get. Even if you have to do community college and just settle for the first degree, do it now. Continue if you can.

Sorry, I know you were looking for a different answer.

I would recommend a job where you don't have to have much experience to start, but where you can easily work your way up the ladder (responsibility and pay) by just working hard, taking advantage of all training opportunities given to you by your employer and paying attention.

One option for this would be retail sales for a large chain. My son started at Circuit City in the warehouse pulling merchandise when ordered from the sales floor. It was a high school job. One day he was teasing one of the sales guys that he ought to put him on the sales floor to sell the customers the extended service plans because the store numbers were quite low in that area. After enough ribbing, the guy finally let him do it. He said "Go sell it to that guy right there. He's convinced he doesn't need it."

He did it.

Then a sales floor position opened up and off he went. Now, several years later (while still working on a degree in Administration of Criminal Justice) he's a Store Director, owns his own home, drives a totally cool car and makes a ton of money. He's still looking forward to his desired career, but he didn't have any experience before starting with Circuit City, moved up very quickly simply by training in every department and learning the merchandise and having a drive to succeed.

Best Buy and Circuit City are both well known for having young associates that move up fairly quickly. If you aren't at all techno and this is not a good choice, then find another chain where the opportunity would be similar. Choose products you know. Clothing, make-up, bath and body products, jewelry... but the store should be large enough that you can move up, or you should be able to make good commissions on what you sell to make it worth your while and to know that the harder you work, the more you will succeed.

Best to you...

Well, it all depends...
If you're looking for a part time job, retail is easy to get into without much experience. But being a cashier at a grocery store or drug store will barely support you so I wouldn't recommend for a full time job.

If you need a job that will actually support you and give you insurance and other benefits, start with a temp agency like Manpower. They might can get you an office job (depending on your computer skills) and that will get your foot in the door to a better paying job.

The best answer is, get some EDUCATION!! An Associates degree is the new high school diploma and it's almost impossible to find a respectable job without at least some college education. Even if you have to work and take two classes a semester, you should because it will pay off in the end.

If you're just looking for another "job" I can't help you. If you're looking for a business opportunity, I can. I know of a terrific business opportunity, on-line marketing. We get paid for hooking up consumers with large corporations on the Internet, bottom line is that we shop on-line and get paid for it, then refer others and get paid for that, too. It is a business that you can develop any way you'd like. . .remember, it would be YOUR business. It can be developed as a referral business or you can sell the products. The products are incredible, a very wide variety to choose from. With this variety you can easily find a niche, a product that really suits your personality, one you can really get behind and promote. There are many progressive, trend-setting products that you could easily promote. The affiliated corporation takes care of inventory, shipping, bookkeeping, etc. It's said that we make friends, make money, and make a difference. I'm sorry, but what I have been reading is truly the stereotypical way of the world..... Go to college and get a degree, then you get a job and you spent the rest of your life trading your hours for money! (Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with a good education, it's just not the ONLY way)

You need to give some details about yourself and things you like to do or not do. That should help people to give suggestions. Do you have cash handling experience? Computer skills? Like kids? I started work as a bank teller at 23 with no banking experience but cash handling (grocery store) i was a teller for 2 years than head teller(mgr) and have since transfer to the loan dept. there is a lot of potential in banking.

Pretty much everything a 24 year old woman is interested in doing you have to go to school for, unless you want to work in a gas station, fast food or in a factory sweatin your butt off for "the man" so get your hobby, see if you can get a degree doing it and make that your career.

Try applying for jobs in a call center, or receptionist jobs. You could also try for some sales associate positions at the mall or something. if you dont have experience, you're going to have a hard time finding anythign tho. go to hotjobs.com or careerbuilder and search for "entry level". good luck!
