How can i unlock breeds in nintendogs?

I know you can find them on walks but where at exacly i went all over the city and didnt find any hats or things to unlock diffrent breeds...am i doing something wrong?

You can unlock certain breeds of dogs by earning a certain amount of trainer points (by taking your dogs on walks, winning contests, etc.). Sites like http://www.gamefaqs.com would have lists for how many points it takes to unlock each breed.

Another way is to do Bark Mode with a friend. For example, if your friend does bark mode with a shiba inu and you didn't have that particular breed, you will be able to buy them at the kennel after the Bark Mode is over.

You can also get the dalmatian by finding a Fireman's Hat on a walk, and get a Jack Russell terrier by finding a Jack Russell Terrier Book. It is completely random when it comes to finding certain items, though presents farther away from home or on the road are said to contain rarer items.

I bought my copy of Nintendogs when it first came out, and I only found the fireman's hat last month. Good luck and keep searching!
