I usually have lots of people telling me that I should go into modeling. I have been getting this for many years, since I was a teen. However, I don't feel that modeling is for me; I have never had a passion or an interest for it, but I always get so many people to tell me that I definitely have a look for it. The real reason that I have never had an interest for it is b/c, in a bigger picture sense, I don't feel that I can take a bunch of criticism from people telling me what I am and what I'm not, basically. I like to dress nice, and I know that I have a look for modeling, but I just don't feel it. Do you think I should pursue it anyway, since so many people have been telling me about it for years; or should I just follow how I have always felt?

You should pursue what you want to pursue. Those other people don't have to live with your decisions.
Besides there are other avenues in the fashion world if you want to pursue something in that industry. Have you thought about studying to be designer or a personal fashion assistant?

Modeling is more than just "looks."
You will not be happy doing something that you might even be quite good at, but don't enjoy.
I'd ljust thank those ppl for the compliments and go about my subiness pursuing whatevetr you want to do.
Too many ppl have lived unhappily when they allow others to choose their careers, mates or homes.
Now, of course, if the dituation is right and you want to make a quick buck, you can always do that as well.
I am not saying that models madk quick bucks.
I am just saying that if you are offered something and you would be able to make some change, you are always free to model how much or less as you would like.
I know ppl who model part time and only when they feel comfortable.
One woman only modeled once, then said that it was not for her, but certainly spent the $500 she got from it.

This is a joke, right? You seriously cannot think of ONE career that runs circles around a hollow industry like modeling???? Get your butt into school and do something intelligent with your life. I, too, had everyone telling me to "be a model." Why in the world would I want to associate with vacuous, empty-headed idiots who stand around looking "pretty" for a career??? no thanks. Have you EVER talked to a model? If so, did you talk about anything other than them???? I didn't think so.

Follow your heart, those people telling you to model will not have to put up w/the rigorous strains modeling puts on some people. If you don't want to do it, then don't do it...simple as that. You only have 1 life to live, why should you live it the way someone else thinks you should?

It's not an easy career. My son, who tried it for awhile in hopes of seeing the world for free, says that it taught him one important thing: How to handle rejection!
How old are you? It is a field that embraces youthful looks which, hard as it may be to believe, fade early for women. (The women earn more but their careers are not as long-lasting as men's.)
You might want to get an evaluation from reputable people in the field. Your well-meaning friends might not have the professional know-how to know what look is in current demand.
But ultimately, if the thought of modeling turns you off, you can always be a stunning woman who is following other dreams.

The modeling business is pretty cutthroat. If you don't take criticism well, it won't be for you. Besides, if you're too far out of your teens, you'll be starting too late anyway. I'd say go with your gut and not do it.

You should think about pursung aspirations that make you happy and that you enjoy instead of wasting your precious time on something you don't have a passion for. The hell about what other people think.. What does this georgeous person want?? Good luck.

And waste your youth on something that makes you miserable? The path you choose needs to bring YOU happiness and fulfillment. Not others. If people truly care about you, they will support your decision NOT to pursue modelling.
Best!!

Why would you get into anything that you don't have a feel for?
Follow your own path and just continue to dazzle them with your looks and style!
