Step 1 - Figure out what you really like to do more than almost anything else. Not necessarily what job, but what activity really lights you up. It can be something specific or it can be more general - but what is your #1 love in life. (That's not always an easy question to answer, and it may take some time and reflection to come up with the response.)

Step 2 - Figure out how to make it pay. It might mean working for someone else - it might mean starting something yourself. It might mean you work at something that pays for what you love (although that is a little bit of a cop-out.)

Your question doesn't say what you enjoy doing, so it's hard to be more specific.

Hi, Jayda

Many people have the same dilema: what job/career should I have?

Look at what you liked to do as a child of 9, 10, 11, or 12. What were your interests? What did you like doing?

Alternately, if you had all the money in the world (okay, so 10 million dollars in the bank), what would you do to keep yourself busy?

Look into being of service to someone. What can you do or what would you like to do to help people? how about being an interpreter? Translator of documents from English to Chinese? A personal translator for businesspeople coming to Hong Kong? A personal shopper for rich people coming to Hong Kong to shop?

What is it that REALLY excites you? Follow your dreams...

Here in America.... MOST of the time.... A college degree will help you get a job worth your while. Because although right now you dont mind low pay.... after doing a job that someone else does with a degree and gets paid WAY more than you, it wont be so fun anymore.
I suggest an education.

If you like working with people, sounds like you do based on your curent position. You might want to consider a job in the car industry. Toyota Sales Consultant. I started selling cars in 1999, worked my way into management in 2002 and have not made less than 75k a year since 1999. My first year I did 78k. My best year was 125k.

The hours are long if you want to be successfull, however the pay is great and you help people get the vehicle they really want. If you want to stay busy, and want to get paid for your work. You can learn a lot in the car business and meet several people who will in-turn give you good deals on things like, a lawyer, doctor, repair man, lawn and garden service company, etc. I give them a good deal on a car, they give me a good deal on new carpet, cheap lawn service, free legal advice, etc.

They have career tests that you can take that ask a ton of questions that may not seem relevant but then it gives your personality profile and tells you some ideas for jobs you would like. There are jobs out there that you would not believe exist !!
I took one at a local community college years ago in the career center. If you take one on line take a few. I do not trust that stuff.
