its not just about wanting the americans to leave.they expect the americans will tire and leave.what you see happening now is positioning themselves for when the americans leave.you have 2 different sects the shi'ites and sunnis.they both want to be the dominant force controlling the country when america leaves.they know they can not defeat america but they feel they can defeat one other

It's not really about the US any more to a certain extent, it's to do with the fact that there are 3 factions/religious variants there who all pretty much hate each other. The country's resources aren't split up equally, so the various factions are trying to secure as much land for their own as is possible so they're not left short. Plus the Kurds in the North fear if the Sunnis etc take control, they will be forced out or given the worst of land for farming/resources.

It's basically a civil war now, and could be like Yugoslavia with all the various factions becoming their own countries after all the fighting.

At least that's how I understand it anyway.

It may be partly so they can get the local population angry at the americans for not protecting them better, and reflect badly on the american 'protectors'. Also, a cowed population, living in constant fear, is so much easier to control once America pulls out. It's part of their strategy to seize power, knowing that most Iraqi people will be too tired of all the deaths and too frightened to fight them any longer. Such scum.

It's about power and control.

Resources and people.

Hatred and revenge not just 30 years of Saddam but 100's of years of anger between Sunni and shi'ite

Ask the editor of the Daily Mail: hate and fear spurts from every page of this vile **** rag, feverishly gripped in a permanent state of outrage about, well, everything.
