x = +3/2 and x = 1

2x² - 5x + 3 = 0
{-b ± √[-b² - 4ac]} / 2a = 0
{-(-5) ± √[-(-5)² - 4*2*3]} / 2*2 = 0
5 ± √(25 - 24) / 4 = 0
x = (5 ± 1) / 4
x = 6/4 or 4/4
x = 3/2 or 1

2x^2 - 5x + 3 =0 factors by inspection to
(2x )(x ) factors of 2x^2
(2x - )(x - ) both negatvie because middle term is negative
and final term is positive
(2x - 3)(x - 1) =0 ==>
factors of 3 that when multiplied by 2 and 1 add
up to 5. Next set each factor = 0
2x - 3 = 0 or x - 1 = 0 ==>
solve each equation for x
2x = 3 or x = 1 ==>
x = 3/2 or x = 1 the two possible answers.
none of your 4 choices has these two anwsers so
the answer is none of the available roots unless you say the positive root of 3) and the positive root of 4)
