And mission was accomplished, why are we still there? Bush stated that the troops would not be used for nation building. We can reasonably expect that with a revolution may come some violence. Should we be standing in the middle of Iraq being able to find it's way?

I didn't realize that 'mission accomplsihed' and 'freedom of the Iraqi people' was such a horrible mess...perhaps the guy who got us into that 'mess' should not be making the decisions?

It couldn't be said at the time because the American people would not support it .......but Iraq is meant to be our base of operations in a war against Iran!

Just watch and see!

Actually, Bush never said before the war started that freeing Iraq from despotism was a goal--just a hoped for side effect. The stated reasonns for going intoIraq were the supposed threat of WMD and a supposed link to al-Qaida.

It was only AFTER it was shown there were no WMD and no link to the terrorists that he started rewriting history and claiming that freeing Iraq was the main purpose of the war.

So Bush has been lying from the getgo. No need to be puzzled over more dishonesty from our "Deciddeer."

Bush used the argument of democracy as an excuse to invade Iraq. That is evidenced by his failure to remove the troops after Hussein was captured and a democratic vote took place.

The purpose - as I believe it - for the US to be in Iraq has more to do with securing such a large supply of oil. And not for selfish consumption or economic reasons....but more to do with the fact that oil was going to be traded in Euros (which would leave the US out in the dark), and also ensuring that China did not create a direct pipeline.

there is some thing that bush afraid to do, if he went out with his army, people will say, he has been defeated and he surrenders, if he stays, more people will be killed, american, and arabian, he is just in the middle, he cannot go out or stay inside 4a longer time. the problem we have that iran doesnt have, that they have got a leader that they all like and respect, and think he is the truth, but all the other nations r stupid, they dont a a great leader like iran, and no one will be able to fix out this problem except the nations their selves.

Of course.

We created the mess, if we leave and leave it as is it will come back to haunt us in a million different ways.

We should never have gone there in the first place, but, now that we are there we can't leave and leave a mess behind. That would only create millions of people that hate us and would be willing to give their lives in order to take ours. We don't need any more of that.
