I just got my sons 'ability test' results, the school didn't give me a copy of the scale on the back of the book.

I just was at a meeting this morning with 4 school officials. I had him tested because all my kids are above 131 on thier IQ's, however this son, by a different father has been having problems in school and socially, his father passed away 2 years ago. They came to the conclusion that my son was too emotionally upset to get an accurate 'abilities' test. He scored best in the visual section at 16 year old level. I understand the whole break down, I was too upset at the time to really pay much attention, now at home I wanted to go over his scores more. Thank you!

My son took the WISC III and WIAT II when he was 7 in 2nd grade, he is now 9 & in 4th grade.. I have a breakdown sheet included in the results..the VIQ is verbal IQ, the PIQ is Performance and Full Scale is their IQ. They have other pages that list Raw Score vs Scaled Score and percentage rate. Also they have grade level equivalent, and age equivalent.. for example from my sons report... his VIQ= 135, PIQ= 129, Full Scale (or IQ) = 135...on one of the individual tests.. Vocabulary his raw score was 32, the Scaled Score (or what they determined as norm) 18 his PR was >99 % ... In Reading Comprehension his Raw Score (what he scored) was : 138..STD or Scaled Score (what is expected) was: 122... his age equivalent (what age group he is scoring with was: 13:4 or (about 13 1/2 yr olds) his Grade Equivalent (or what grade he scored at was: 7:7 (or almost 8th grade). I have included some links which also include the Harcourt Assessment page, the makers of the test. If anything I believe a results book is available. I couldn't find a breakdown on the web. You could always ask to speak with the school counselor or pyschologist, as they would be able to interpret the scores for you as well. I hope I helped as much as I can. I know the results can be formidable to say the least.

On the Weschler Intelligence Scale, average is a score of 90-109. So I suppose he's on the lower side of average.
