She jokes about this to deflect and distance herself from her husband.

It is one thing to use her husband to campaign for President but she tries to feed off his experience without having to answer the bad things he did.

Unfortunately her personal life has become more important than her qualifications to run for President.

This, again is due to her husband having had done the job with his personal life being dragged through the mud. She feels that if she can joke about her personal life she will make people understand she is not her husband. Then eventually she can start to get to the job of explaining indeed her experience and qualifications to run for President.

This for her is a Catch 22 as she will indeed have to rely on her husbands experience to explain why she is the best person to be President of the United States.

I agree with Shirkuh. I think she will forever minimize (in public) the personal damage that was done by his behavior because she needs to make it clear that her priority is what's best for this country and her own emotions will not have any effect on her decisionmaking process.

Women have a bad rap as being overly emotional and that's why so many folks say they'd never vote a female into the presidency. She's keeping her cool and making it clear that she's not overly emotional... compassionate, yes... but not hysterical in the face of personal and life-shattering difficulties.

Why? you ask why? Isn't it obvious, she is trying to portray herself as the victim, and trying to be a hero to overcome her past. She is trying to obtain sympathy votes . . . trying to get everyone to think poor Hillary to shadow her shortcoming.

It is not just a political play, but it is a game that all women play . . . women file for the majority of the divorce in the US, in most cases when they are children, they claim abuse (falsely) . . . lawyers after cases without revealing names have admitted in a divorce case 79% falsely accuse the spouse (male) of abuse to gain full or majority custody of their children. They play for sympathy and they win . . . which is BS.

Hillary will can not win the presidency . . . she does have some good issues, but she will emasculate men . . . and make the US a weaker nation. Not because she is female, because she has a sense of entitlement (which has long been over since the women liberation movement have completed their objective). Unfortunately, the movement in many cases are still moving, because they no longer want equal rights and treatment . . . they feel because of the past, they are entitled to superior rights and superior treatment. They don't want to be treated equal.

All she has proven to me is that I am right in thinking we should not elect a woman for the presidency or even the vice-presidency. As a woman, I know there is too much vile hatred in a woman scorned! Vote for the best Man for the job!

Because he IS (to use a word that he doesn’t seem to understand) evil and bad, and she is trying to turn it into a joke to reduce people’s awareness of that, so that she will not be blamed for not having restrained him. She is just as evil and bad as he is, and she is trying to get people to forget it or not notice it, so that she can get elected.

She likes to keep him in the "picture" as she thinks he is to her advantage (?) Possibly she will dump the sucker after she gets in the White House because he will be of no use to her as "First Lady."
Right now, as Senator and Presidential Candidate it would not be too chic to separate/divorce.
She can make light of his indiscretions but she's no better as I have no respect for either one.

Because Republicans are one-trick ponies. As long as they had control over both houses of Congress, they at least made noises about wanting to be bipartisan (while passing some of the most biased legislation in history).

But now that Bush Jr.'s approval ratings are in the low 30s, they're reverting to their old Clinton-era antics.

Hillary is a very practical person who's striving to ascend to the presidency. I think that she believes that appearing not to care about Clinton's boyish acts of extramarital affairs, would make her more mature. wise and forgiving in the eues of the American public.

being biosed and narrow minded must get realy awkward at times ...huh..? ..obviously, 'changes' are immenant, it's just a matter of who is going to impliment them, and if it turns out that a woman is the american choice for the office, i will suport her, if the votes of voters indicate she is the 'choice' of the majority, and the pols arent rigged this time, she deserves as much respect as we gave that office under any other presidency...live with it.
