When in doubt, go with black. There are usually many dresses to choose from in black.

This has more to do with what your skin tone and hair color is. For instance if you are a typical fair skined red head...stay away from RED! If you have a nice tan skin tone and auburn / brown hair however...by all means wear red (preferrably darker red tones - my preference). See what I mean? Are you white, black, asian, middle eastern, indian? What color are your eyes? Are you a fall? Spring? Winter? Summer? Need more information on what you look like.

I always say you should stand out from the crowd. Avoid the popular colors (red, black, white, silver, gold, pale pink) so you don't look like every other girl at the dance. If your coloring is like your avatar, try a vibrant pink, navy, turquoise, and other bold colors.

NOT white...save that for your wedding day..you should wear light colors like pink or blue...yellow is cool too

If you have fair skin, go for light colors like princess pink, aquamarine, etc., but don't ever wear pink if you have red hair! If you have tan skin, or sunkist skin, wear colors like browns, whites, dark blues, dark reds, or dark purples. And last, if you have dark skin, go for oranges, whites, reds, or/and black. Do hot pink, it will make you stand out from the other girls. Plus it looks good on all skin tones.

Something that suits your skin tone. If you have a caramel complexion like your avatar, I suggest light blue or coral.
