If you are looking for a movie Like that to be suggested to you, you may want to check out "Sleepers." It has Robert De Niro, Kevin Bacon, Dustin Hoffman, and others in it. It was pretty good.

Vera Drake (2004)
Set in 1950s England, Vera Drake (Imelda Staunton) is tirelessly devoted to her family, looking after her husband and children, her elderly mother, and a sick neighbour. Although Vera and her family do not live lavishly, their strong family bonds hold them together. Vera works as a house cleaner. However, unbeknownst to her family, she also serves as a backroom abortionist, which was illegal at that time. This is an AMAZING film and much like Magadalene Sisters!!!!
Also, by the same director of Magadalene Sisters, the film Children of Men (2006) starring Clive Owen and Julianne Moore. It has been nominated for several Oscars.
